Quaker Life Original Cereal Still One of My Favorites!!!

I have been eating Quaker Life cereal since I was a little boy. I have not ate it for many years, but when I saw it on AmazonFresh I decided to try it again. After eating the first bowl I had nostalgic memories of my childhood. The Quaker Life cereal still tasted just as good as the Quaker Life cereal I had eaten in the past.
Great flavor.

Stays Crunchy, Even In Milk

I'm a baby boomer, born in the 1950s. I can still remember when this cereal came out. Quisp and its partner cereal Quake were introduced by Quaker Oats in 1965. Initial boxes of Quisp referred to the cereal as "the vitamin powered sugary cereal... for QUAZY energy." The "crunchy corn cereal" pieces were often called "saucer-shaped" but more realistically resembled flattened or deflated round cereal pieces. The cereal tasted remarkably similar to another Quaker cereal, Cap'n Crunch.

In 1969 a Quisp Beanie cereal premium was offered for 3 box tops, but who could afford 3 boxes of Quisp. Oh how I wanted to have one of them but, by the time I had accumulated enough box tops, the promotion was over. I did manage to see one at nostalgic toy show in Dallas Texas a few years ago.

Texture:

Stays Crunchy, Even In Milk. Remember that phrase? I do. As I recall, the Quaker Cereals were notorious for turning to mush when milk was added, so you had to eat it very fast. Well, they definitely improved on that. After eating a bowl full (equivalent to 2 serving), the roof of my mouth felt like I had been eating sandpaper. Not complaining though. If I had just eaten a single serving, I may not have experienced the sensation.

Taste:

As far as I can tell, and I haven't eaten any since the 1960s, it tasted as I remembered it. Definitely sugary sweet. So prepare for your sugar high.

Price:

No one who buys this cereal is buying it for the price. At the time of purchase (November 18, 2011), it was offered by Amazon, 6 boxes for $18.08 (3.01 per box) which is an outstanding price compared to what sellers are selling it for now and far lower than offered at the official website. Since I purchased some other items with it, I got free shipping.

Overall I am very pleased with the Cereal as well as Amazon's superior pricing and service.
