I was hesitant to purchase this after I read at least one review that said the bat broke and was dangerous, but I figured for the price, my husband and I would check it out before letting him use it, just in case. After hitting several T-ball grade safety balls with the force of an adult swing, we were convinced that the broken bats must have been due to a child using the bat inappropriately, like hitting a hard object, a tree, or hitting it against concrete ground. We don't let our son play with the bat or anything like it without adult supervision. Any wooden object would break with enough force, no matter how well it's made. I'd recommend this product if it's used properly.

If you need a bat and ball on a budget I highly recommend this one. The ball feels a little cheap but it's good enough for a kid to start learning the ropes with.

Had a hard time finding a set that was real wood and real ball. I was trying to find all plastic free but the ball is packaged in plastic around the bat. But it's the closest I could get.

The bat I received looks nothing like the picture- mine is red, white, and blue. My son specifically requested a black bat, so we were a little surprised to receive the other one. Not a huge deal.
This is a wooden bat, which it says in the small description, but not in the main product description. I missed this detail (having only read the product title and the bullet point description... in fact I didn't even notice there was another description because it was just one short line of text. Oops).
It is a little bit on the heavy side for a first time player, but we're getting used to it.
Seems to be good quality, good construction. No real complaints other than it being not as pictured, and the product description not saying it is wooden "right off the bat."

The bat is well made and a good weight for a wooden bat. This is my sons first year in T ball and I didn't know what bat to buy...this is well made and is meant to last. BUT if your child is JUST learning to hit, you may want a thicker barrel on the bat. He can hit with it but he does much better with the alloy bats that are a little wider on top. Still this bat will be wonderful for him once he gains more experience. It is a little heavier and it helps him to learn how to swing with more force. We use this wooden bat for practice and the metal bat for games. Overall a great purchase.
