A nice glockenspiel for a young child to begin learning music...

I ordered this for my daughter as one of her 2nd Birthday gifts. It's a very nice instrument to learn the basics of music with. This glockenspiel is well built & after nearly 2 years of a toddler's abuse, there isn't a scratch on it. I also like that my daughter 1) can pronounce "glockenspiel" when even (American) adults struggle with it & 2) knows the difference between a glockenspiel and a xylephone & 3) can follow music notes by color & play common melodies.
Low C is sharp by half step.

Low C (lowest note) was sharp by nearly half a step. Have contacted Hohner, no reply. It is really hard to listen to my child play this instrument, as it sounds really bad. If someone at Hohner is reading this - please reply to my contacts! I just need the low key replaced - I will update my review to 5 stars! It's a great instrument, all except for that one note.

Wow this "toy" sounds amazing! The German quality just can't be beat! I bought it as a gift for a small child and wanted to keep it for myself in recording!!! But don't worry, I finally got around to wrapping it for the small child :-)

I bought this for my 4yr. old who loves music and asked for a xylophone. She had out grown her toddler style xylophone. I was amazed by the good tone quality and it is very durable, even the little wooden sticks seem strong. She is happily tapping out tunes.
Choking hazard!

If your child likes to chew on things BEWARE! The little ball on the end of the mallet came off! I am so incredibly thankful I saw it in her toy drawer and that she didn't choke on it. We only had it for a month...definitely no peace of mind with this toy unfortunately.
