I purchased this unit to go in a custom wooden range hood. Along with the separate metal insert piece, worked perfectly. The exhaust fan works great, though the sliding on/off switches for the fan and lights could be better - reason for 4 rather than 5 stars. Also, a tad on the loud side, but it works much better than what we had previously. Great product for the price paid.

This broan kitchen hood has a faulty fan system that breaks down frequently. The machine assembly starts making noise leading to the fan from spinning freely and eventually dies. This is the 2nd time this has happened to us. The original fan was given by NV Homes in our home in 2015. That broke down in 2016 and we replaced which now has broken down in Sep 2017. Had to replace ours. This one still sounds like a flipping jet engine. If you want to watch TV while it's on, good luck. It saves you money to buy the part here on Amazon and then have it installed.
