The album cover is the clue

When I bought this album, what I had in mind was having something with the sound of a slow-moving river that would be relatively quiet and gentle. What is on the album sounds like what you'd hear while traversing a stretch of rapids. At low volumes, I guess this would be fine as "white noise", so I understand the positive reviews, but this isn't what I was looking for. I think a more appropriate title for the disc might have been "Rushing River."

it depends on your preference, i did NOT like this product as much. to me, the white noise was overpowering, the water sounds were in the background. i wanted more of just water sounds or at least water as the primary noise. i didnot play with the bass/treble adjustments to see if they would make any difference. this was okay, but not quite what i was looking for.

This is definitely not worth the price. It is one short recording of river sound .....didn't work for my insomniac 4 year old.

I love these CD's. This is perfect for my baby's sleep. We live in a very, very quite neighborhood and he wakes at a pin-drop. We started using these for naps and at night, and he falls asleep faster and stays asleep longer. Very soothing, the "Distant Thunderstorm" is our favorite!
