Mom Approved

Bought as a gift to my mom to put on her .38 snub.

She's a fairly petite woman but loves the feel of the new grips compared to the old dinky wooden ones.
Square butt j frame grip....and it fits my model 36
6shooterJanuary 22, 2017
I've used pachmayr grips for years on multiple calibres and have always been pleased with the fit and comfort of these grips.
This grip I just bought was for a model 36 air weight square butt and it fits perfectly which is nice because there are not a lot of grips out there for the square butt jframe.
The grip fills my medium sized hand well and my wife's small hands are just as comfortable with this grip.
My only criticism is I don't like the finger grooves. That is so 1980's. The grip would be much more comfortable without the grooves.
Proper fit

Bought this grip for my .38 S&W SPL +P Model 642 pistol. The original grips are too small for my hand.

I tried these grips at the range and the fit is perfect. Improved fit has eliminated painful recoil effects. Aiming accuracy is improved by now being able to use a proper two handed grip and being able to quickly reestablish the site picture.

I purchased this gun for concealed carry. The new grip is longer and makes a slightly bigger bulge when concealed under my shirt. Ability to draw the gun from my outside the belt holster I use was unaffected.
Fits the S&W 642 perfectly

Was looking to improve the hand ergonomics of my already excellent S&W 642, these grips accomplished that. They are bigger and much more comfortable than factory grips. In fact when I opened the package I thought the grips might be too big for the 642, no worries they're not. The Pachmayr grips improve the shootability of this little revolver 100% . I conceal carry in a good belt holster with a cover garment, the new grips don't affect concealability at all. However, if you intend to pocket carry your J frame the bigger grips may be an issue for you.
Highly recommend this product.
Great feel but not perfect.

Arrived quickly. Shot with it today on my J frame square butt. Apparently Hogue doesn't make grips for this and I couldn't find a Pachmyer for it at bass pro because of the change from round to square butt on this model.
The improvement it made to the feel of this gun was immediately felt. I'm not going to say it will improve your shooting ability as far as accuracy goes, but you will be able to gain reaquisition of your sight picture quicker between shots since you don't lose your grip with the recoil felt with the stock grip.
Would've given it 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that the grip protrudes a tiny bit from the frame because Pachmyer didn't make room for one of the screws on the frame. This could allow water/dirt to enter that little spot. It appears a tiny bit of removal of material from where the grip covers that screw would solve that, but you shouldn't have to modify a grip that is advertised for this particular model revolver.
