Perfect for 2008 GMC Sierra
William L. McIntyre•August 29, 2017
Worked perfectly for my truck. Although the ad says it doesn't. 2008 GMC Sierra z71 4x4 crew cab
Fits more than Amazon Says
C. A. Howe•June 28, 2017
Don't believe the Amazon fit checker. This is the EXACT part that came off of my 09 Silverado 1/2 Ton Extended cab, same part number, same markings, same everything. It even has the round plug so that you don't need the adapter harness that a lot of other canisters need.. Installed quick, cleared code P0449.
Great parts

Item arrived quickly, was just the ticket to solve the gas cap and canister vent related error code on my 2008 L76 6.0L GMC 4x4. Also restored some throttle response, mileage, and power as well in my case. I think this happened at around 110,000 miles. iirc, it took 3 or 4 days of occasional driving for the error code to turn off.
check engine light went off!!
Jesse M. Adams•May 12, 2016
i hav a 2006 gmc 1500 4.8 works great, made the check engine light go out!! your gonna need at 3 to 4 feet of 5/8 heater hose, your not gonna be able to use the old hard plastisc hose connected to the old solenoid just undo the quick disconnect straight from tank or where ever its connected and use the hose with a simple clamp from that point back to the solenoid , dont panic if you look at your old solenoid n see it only has one nipple and the new one has two, the canister is an update to the solenoid just connect some new hose two the second nipple at least a foot and a half and tie strap the canister where ever u want maby somewhere on the frame out of the way of anything, remember its a fume vent so just somewhere clean away from exhaust
Fixed my P0449 code!
Jimmy•November 2, 2015
I purchased this and the Genuine GM 12597567 Evaporator Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve to fix the P0449 check engine light code on my 2008 5.3L Silverado. After changing both the parts, my CEL went off during the 4th drive of the truck which was approx. 100 miles total since the parts were installed. This was a major relief after having the light on for 3 years (I'm lazy).
I used a heat gun to get the long, flexible ribbed hose off the old vapor canister and vent filter and used two of the hose clamps to reinforce the connection when I reused the hose on the new parts.. The short, rigid tube was impossible to remove without totally melting it, so I cut it off and used about 1/2 the heater hose and clamped that in it's place - the heater hose has to be much longer than the rigid tube to accommodate bends without kinking.
