Avoid this at all cost. If you do NOT ...

Avoid this at all cost. If you do NOT want to get stranded with a broken oar, do NOT buy these. The center plastic connector breaks no matter what. First time it broke in a lake, I thought I did it wrong. On the second pair I reinforced with a lot of duct tape and it still broke. Looking for a different brand now.
Need More

I need another set of these. Lightweight aluminum paddles work well combined like a kayak paddle or separated as canoe paddles. I build wooden boats and like to take my kid out on the lakes here. If we're in the same boat either I can paddle or we can share, but I need to order another set for us each to take our own boats out.
Okay canoe paddle, shouldn't even be under "kayak paddles"

If you're planning to use this as two canoe paddles, it would work OKAY for that purpose. If you're planning to use this as a kayak paddle, I recommend you take your business elsewhere. Here's why: when set up for kayaking, the two paddles are held together by a plastic coupler that screws/clamps to the ends. The problem is that the plastic that the coupler is made of bears resemblance to what other companies use to make plastic silverware, not kidding. When my buddy and I went out for a day on the river, he didn't take 3 strokes before it snapped in half like I knew it would. If you'd like a friendly suggestion of what paddle to buy for kayaking, I would suggest the Seasense Extreme II, which I was using on the day the intex broke in my friend's hands.
decent paddle that works

A decent paddle that comes apart for easier storage. It would be great if it was lighter weight as it is pretty heavy. (Maybe twice the weight of the more expensive paddles.) Also, you need to keep an eye on the connectors when you take it apart, they can slide off the paddle.
Works great for a portable paddle

Easy to use and put together. Bought as a spare in case the paddle that came with the kayak broke (I read the included ones weren't that great). Anyway, this one works well for what it is. Paddle part could be a bit bigger, but hey, it's meant to be portable, so can't have it all. Feels quite sturdy and worked great for my 2 hour paddle.
