A nice addition to my electronics bench.

This makes a nice addition to my electronics workbench. It lets me position the circuit board how I need to in order to solder the parts. The solder spool holder is a handy addition - now my solder roll stays at the where I can find it. I don't use the iron holder much, as I am usually using a soldering station, but it is handy when I use a conventional iron. Best of all, I can also put the head in my screwed down base, as well as using it in the mobile base. That is one of the best things about PanaVise products.

I bought this work station because I was tired of holding motherboards while trying to solder capacitors on them. This thing works perfectly. The included track is wide enough to fit most motherboards and you can purchase others if you need to hold something larger. There are many different adjustment points, which I view as both a good and bad thing because it's sometimes difficult to get the board positioned in the right place, but also gives you very fine control. The vise arms adjust approximately, then a spring-loaded lever tightens them to hold the board firmly. The reservoirs in the base are great for holding screws and electronic components. I really like the soldering iron stand attached to the base, because I hate having a separate soldering station. Overall, if you do any kind of work with circuit boards, I highly recommend this product!

There is a reason this has been a mainstay for at least 40 years. The Iron holder kinda gets in the way, so I did remove it since I use the one that came with my Weller soldering station that won't cool the iron. The solder reel is handy though. The little trays are handy for parts, and the board holder is easy to use and holds the board where you need it to be.

Easily 5 stars. I found this to be plenty stable and easy to adjust.
I found it easy to adjust the PCB to a nice, low to the bench, 45 degree angle (see photos). Then, when I'm ready to flip the board, I would use the PCB release knob with my left hand, flip the board with my right hand and then lock it back in place again. The release knob has a pleasant, obviously well thought out shape as well as a nice smooth action. The vice's long "fingers" hold the PCB securely without a hint of hesitation. The "fingers" provide a nice smooth, secure surface on which to rest your pinky fingers to steady your hands.
It definitely makes the project much more enjoyable.
