Nice cream, nice scent (lime), but pricey

The scent is very nice (verbena lime) and it makes a nice, smooth cream on the face. But it's pretty expensive for a small container and it's a little thinner than Art of Shaving, Proraso, and other creams so you end up using more of it. I went through this jar in about 3 months (a 5 oz Art of Shaving jar lasted me 6 months and I've used a Proraso soap for 3 months and barely made a dent in it).
Best shave cream ever. Don't forget the after shave too.

If you have sensitive skin and have not tried this product I suggest you do. I've tried a lot of brands and always had some minor burning but none with this White Tea. I'd also highly recommend their White Tea after shave lotion. If you travel I'd suggest you search out the 1 ounce containers to get through security. Buy the larger 4 ounce here and refill.
Love the scent and the lather is really great

I love trying new products for shaving because I am always trying to improve my experience. I love to shave ever since I made the switch a couple years back to using a double edge safety razor and this stuff makes it all the more enjoyable.
I have been using a lot of proraso shave creams and soaps for a while, but after trying this I'll probably start to branch out more... that is if I don't decide to pick up another one of these.
I love the scent (white tea), and it gives a superb lather. Not much else to it. It does a really well job at helping keeping me nice and smooth.

It's decent... but not sure if I like it enough to purchase it again.

I started off using shaving creams, then moved to hard soaps for a while, then moved back to cream. I decided to go for the eShave cream after reading an excellent review on it, plus I was interested in what the White Tea scent. So on to the review!
Let me break down the shaving cream into what I look for in a shaving soap.
1) Lather
For me, one of the key points that a shaving soap should have is its ability to build up a good lather. I don't want to take a brush to my face only to discover that the lather is either short lived or barely lathers at all in the first place. In this regard, the eShave cream works quite well. I've shaved using distilled water and this soap will build up a thick thick foam around your face. With my hard tap water... it doesn't work quite as well. It will still give a decent lather, but if you're looking for that thick foam, you're either going to have to use a lot more cream or use distilled water.
2) Lubricity
Lubrication is the main point of a shaving soap and sadly, this cream is only mediocre in this regard. Compared to Art of Shaving Lemon puck, this soap doesn't provide nearly as much glide as the AoS soap did, despite the better lather. After trying multiple shaves with varying degrees of water, I have come to the conclusion that the soap lubrication is what it is... I found myself having to shorten my strokes significantly to avoid getting weepers because the blade just doesn't glide as nicely.
3) Fragrance
The fragrance is strong with this one. It smells pleasant, but I can see this irritating those with sensitive skins. It also doesn't leave too much residual scent on the skin afterwards (which is a plus for me). While I do like the White Tea scent, it does remind me a bit of a car freshener smell. I think I prefer a more traditional sandalwood or lavender scent to this one.
4) Price
Not a great deal... not a bad deal. Pretty much competitive with other upper brand name soaps.
Gear used: Badger brush, Feather blades, Weber SS DE razor.

I've used these products for years. I've not had one since ingrown hair or one ounce of razor burn since I began using these products. They used to have a few stores here in NYC, but have since gone online. This is my favorite scent. This and lavender in this cream. The after shave soother is lighter and best for warmer temps, and the aftershave cream is brilliant for dry winter coldness. Buy the whole kit. Pre-shave oil, cream, and after shave. This product will change the way you experience shaving.
