I purchased the set from Amazon on Sept 29th. The set I received had a date sticker of 08/30/17 so I think they are quickly moving quite a few of these sets through Amazon. I believe this set is a good value for the money as it has quite a few different files for different filing needs. Through Amazon, the set was $65.35. If purchased elsewhere, the prices were ranging from $65.35 all the way up to $146.99. If you purchased all 8 pieces direct from Nicholson Tools, it would run you about $128.38 without the storage pouch.
Things about this set to note:
1) The files DO NOT have an individual part number stamped on them. Just a generic description like "Flat bastard".
2) The set does not have a file small enough to file chainsaw chains as pictured on the Amazon listing. I would recommend a file specifically meant for chainsaw chains.
3) The pictures on Amazon are misleading. The red pouch and files say USA. I received a green pouch and South American made files.
All in all, I believe this set is a good value for the money. It arrived undamaged and all the files were in excellent condition.
Four stars for the product, would have been five but the Amazon listing is misleading showing USA products and misleading product use (sharpening a chainsaw chain).
