For the little use it's had, I give it 5 stars because it works quite well for sharpening newer, hard, stainless knives. However, I'm in no position to evaluate its durability, since I've only had it two weeks, and that is why I can only give it 3 stars at this point. Remind me again in 6 months, and I may up the rating to 5 stars.

Well, I'm a little torn. No one hits it out every time they swing the bat. I have over the years, come to regard Eze-lap sharpening rods as the standard in knife sharpening diamond rods. They've always just been my go to, for this product. However, the last three I've purchased, have all had issues. Maybe a sub par lot? Maybe, I decided to try Lansky this go around and I'm good try DMT next. I guess I'm back on the market. This particular eze-lap, came right out the box with bare spots all over it. Literally, have to turn it round and round lookin for a path that actually may contain diamond/grit.

Bought this to put in an emergency pack. Light and easy to carry. You can put it on your belt, attach it to your knife sheath or drop it in your pocket. a couple of passes and knife is ready to go.

A friend showed me his EZE-LAP M at church one morning, and I needed one for kitchen, skinning, and fillet knives. It came yesterday and now all knives in the house are razor-sharp. The thing I like most is that it won't wear out like a kitchen steel will, and it's not as aggressive as a stone. Well-made tool, however the case is not leather as my friend's is. Some composite material that will probably last longer than his leather, but not as classy.
