what ruins this is they have some sloppy runny mushrooms mixed in its not just regular ones.
Odd texture & flavor

I specifically bought these mushrooms to use in a duxelle for beef wellington since it called for 4 varieties of wild mushrooms and those are very hard to find in the area that I live. We love mushrooms and these were just horrible. The texture was off, but most importantly, the flavor was very off-putting. I should have tried them before ruining over $100 of filet mignon in the beef wellington. Lesson learned. Amazon, however was great since I ordered 2 containers of these mushrooms and they refunded me for 1 and I didn't have to send it back.
Very Good!

We love these mushrooms! I think this is our 4th or 5th jug and they've all been consistent in quality.
Not good quality

Used once in a sauce - the mushrooms basically taste like mushy nothing - not a good product. Threw the rest away.
Needed a rinse before soaking

There was a tiny bit of grit/sand in some of these mushrooms. Listed as product of France on my container. Good tasting, but they need a fair amount of cooking to overcome the chewy-partially reconstituted texture. Use them sensibly and they're a fantastic deal.
