It will cut the metal but the edge is more U shaped than V
Neil J.December 12, 2013
Living in a small town I wasn't able to locate a cutting wheel to fit my 7-inch Neiko chop saw so I ordered the cutting wheel online. When it arrived I compared the Neiko wheel cutting edge to the one I had originally purchased (the one that didn't fit which had a major power tool company label) and I noticed the cutting edge on the Neiko was more of a U shape; while the other was a V shape. So what does this all mean? For me it meant the Neiko took longer to cut since the U edge has to bore its way into the material... you kind of hold it against the material until you see its cutting in and then you can complete the cut. A V edge slices into the material and you get to cutting faster. For my application (cutting steel golf shafts) we're only talking about 7-9 seconds to cut with a U edge; versus 3-5 seconds with a V edge. So it's all relative, no?

This cant cut anything when metal gets too hot. It'll cut but only for seconds. I threw them away and bought better brand at local hardware store.
