These are the best chains I’ve ever owned
Daryl D.✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 8, 2023
These chains are excellent. Very durable. I bought 2 sets so that I could chain up all 4 wheels while in 4WD. The cams enabled me to get the chains very snug on the tires. I was able to crawl through 18" deep powder, and even up fairly steep inclines. Since I was chained up I was able to rescue other vehicles that were not. I also used the 6 point bungies as added tension, but would have been fine and plenty tight without the bungies. I was also able to travel 35 mph on paved roads with no snow on them. Being able to leave the chains on until I got to the next snow covered trail was a great time saver. I absolutely abused these chains and they performed flawlessly. I highly recommend these and would never be with these again. If you want heavy duty high quality and excellent performance look no further. Be sure to download the size chart when determine which model number chains to order. These chains fit many different size tires. I am personally running them on LT265/75-R16's
2020 Trail Boss - Fitting

QG2228Cam is the right size for the stock Trail Boss tires (275/65-R18 Duratrac), I had 1 link extra. These chains should work fine in the rear, but I would not recommend for the front because the upper control arm sits so close to the tire. I fitted them to the front and had
Have not driven far with these chains, so cannot comment on durability besides that they look like they will take abuse.
don't forget to get some bungee cords too

good build, but hard to keep tight without some rubber bungee cords against the rim face
Good solid tire chains

So these chains seem extremely durable and so far I'm very happy with the purchase. They're only easy to put on if you know what you're doing and you take the time to play with them at home long before your next trip on snowy/iced roads. DO NOT wait to put these on when you're already on your trip in the snow. Watch the video, read the instructions, and most importantly, be patient and take your time (at home when it's a nice warm day outside). And don't get in a hurry. The built in cams work great, but when you first have the chains on the tire, you'll need to get as much loose slack out of the chain as possible (this is where you'll need to put some muscle into it) before you tighten the cams. Some have reported that the cams don't tighten the chains enough. They will if you get as much of the loose slack as you can out of it. But if you're not physically strong enough to do that, have someone stronger do it, or you can always carry a few bungee cords with you or the spider tightener. That said, the cams themselves should do the job just fine on their own. Again, just get as much slack out as possible. When I first put them on, I was able to hook one link on the inside of the tire, and 2 on the outside. Once I played with it for about 15 mins, I was able to get 3 links of slack on the inner tire, and 4 links on the outside. (tired to get 4 on the inside, but couldn't). The chains were so tight, I could barely tighten the cams and that's what you want. Hope this helps.

Took these on a family trip to the mountains. I have a 4wd truck with snow rated tires. I have never needed to use snow chains before this trip. I got stuck in stop and go traffic on an icy uphill slope (not sanded) and couldn't get moving again, I drifted to the side into a snow bank.

I got out and was able to wrap the two outside tires (ones not in the snowbank) with the snow chains and was able to get going up the slope again. When I pulled over on flat ground to readjust the chains, the back tire chain must have come loose and was wrapped around the back axle. Probably my fault, I was installing them in a rush and didn't use a rubber bungie.

I would say that you definitely need bungie tensioners for these chains, even the ones with the cams. Once I used a rubber bungie, the chains didn't come loose in subsequent uses.

I couldn't drive more than 20 mph with these chains without them becoming unbearable wrt the noise. I think that driving them above 20 mph was causing the chains to rub against the inside of the wheel well from the centrifugal force. Having them saved me from having to pay for a tow so they were worth having.

I am getting another pair of snow chains from a different company that has a better tension system with S-rated clearance with the hope that I can drive at higher speeds with them on without any rubbing.

I would still bring these along even after getting different chains as I know that these are burly / bomber and will work if the other chains break.
