Non thirst provoking and isn't too sweet (like some I have tasted). I really dig the individual wrapping. For a survival situation that is a must have!
Upon seeing how well they are packaged and how good they taste we purchased in bulk for vehicles

We initially purchased this as a Christmas gift for our daughters survival pack. Upon seeing how well they are packaged and how good they taste we purchased in bulk for vehicles, home preps and other emergency gear. Very happy with this purchase
Still in great shape after 17 years.

I think these are actually pretty tasty, considering what they are. I purchased some in late 1999, expired in 2003 (for the Y2K nonsense) and just found them recently. Opened the sealed package and they looked perfect--smelled great, not broken or crumbled. I decided not to eat, although I'm betting they were ok, but I gave them to local squirrels who devoured them and lived to tell! So now I bought some new ones.
Item and seller are both top-notch

The item: Surprisingly tasty, albeit dry, for a survival ration. Should be good for several years beyond their expiration date unless you store them in direct sunlight in a hot climate (or in the back of a car that is routinely parked in the sun and gets up to oven-like temperatures inside). Just make sure you have plenty of water and you'll probably be able to manage well over 72 hours of activity without any problems. The perfect thing for an earthquake kit, for example, which is what mine were for.

The seller: Item exactly as advertised, expiration date not until 2021, prompt shipment. No complaints.
