This canned crab has many uses. You cannot expect deluxe, lump crab at this price. But, this is very good in soup and other dishes where it's okay to just have the crab flavor without large pieces of crab. I use it for Crab & Corn chowder. It can also be added to a can of Cream of Potato soup for a really lazy day soup. Once in a while, there may be a tiny piece of shell, but generally just one or so tiny piece per can. Also, stir a well-drained canful into cream cheese for a cracker spread. As long as your expectations are realistic, this is a great buy.

We love making gimbap and sushi, and our favorite is the California roll, but crab can get pricey and imitation crab never tastes quite right. We decided to try it canned and were happily surprised. It wasn't bad for something in a can and mixed easily with the other ingredients. I'm sure fresh crab would taste better but I don't have the money for that.

good value for the price. I use the canned crab too make spreads to eat with crackers and I love it. I buy it every month and the quality is always good.

Have to be honest I was not expecting much from canned crab. I'm originally from the northeast coast of the US and had access to fresh crabs before I moved outside Atl GA, so prepackaged isn't the same experience and this was canned like tuna so my expectations were even lower. I was pleasantly surprised. It is minced up very finely which kind of reminded me of cat food but I soaked it in a sieve in ice cold water then pressed it down with my hand then a paper towel to get the excess moisture out. Used it in some crab cakes and while the texture wasn't there (no lumps of crab meat) the taste was shockingly similar. I ordered this because I have been avoiding grocery shopping and we don't have grocery delivery where I am now but I will likely use this again even when I can shop again without worrying about infecting my high risk kid. I don't know how it would do in a crap dip but for crab cakes it worked great.
