I bought these stands for my Martin Logan Motion 15 speaker set. Those speakers are heavy and these stands are struggling to stay solid holding them. First I had them on the carpet and I didn't want to take a big risk to leave the speakers on them. So I put 2 solid rectangle wooden pieces under each stands. It looks to be ok like that.

I mainly bought these stands because I am just setting up my media room and like to have the option to adjust speaker height as to configure it better.

This height adjustable design is a very good option but the stand looks ugly and is not solid. Buy this only if you need to get the height adjustment option. I will eventually end up buying a good quality solid speaker stand once I am finished with setting up and configuring my media room.
Nice stands for bookshelf speakers

These are quite good speaker stands, especially when you're on a budget since they can be had for less than 20 bucks apiece. I needed the base of my speakers to be about 4 feet off the ground but angled slightly downward and these helped me achieve just that. They even include cable management holes, although my speaker cables prohibit me from taking advantage of these since the banana plugs are soldered on. The only minor issue I have encountered is that tightening the screw that is supposed to lock the base of the mount in place doesn't seem to do that very well and it can still be rotated if some force is applied. I notice this sometimes happens when I go to remove the magnetic grill covers on my speakers. I only took 1 star off for that but it isn't a dealbreaker for me considering the price.
Perfect for small bookshelf speakers, or to hold rear speakers, as I did.

I bought these for a pair of rear-speakers in my 5.1 setup. They were accessories to a remodel of the living room which included a pair of Polk bookshelf speakers. These were perfect for their intended use. The speakers fit perfectly, and the stands set up easily. Definitely use the rubber pads as they firmly hold the speakers in place (but I have the speakers flat, not tilted at any angle). The speakers are just above ear height when seated, as I wanted. The stands will adjust to much higher though. Very happy with these.
Great for smaller speakers, large speakers not so much

The speaker stands do look a bit wimpy, but they can hold up speakers to their maximum size of 11 inches wide. A plastic sheath between the telescoping parts is the source of friction to keep the stands at their chosen height. Not ideal if you're going to be constantly adjusting heavy speakers.

One gripe is that the 8 inch square base is way too small for larger speakers beyond 8 inches wide. You'll need to fabricate a larger base, but luckily, a quick trip to the hardware store for some heavy particle board and some M6 35mm machine screws will get the extra stability you need for larger speakers. Estimated cost for materials is around $15USD.

I'm holding up a 10x11 Cerwin Vega bookshelf speaker set on my stands with my modification, and they're rock steady on my carpet... Just don't get the cat near them.

I'm not hearing any harsh sympathetic harmonics from the stands at this time when audio is playing.

If you have larger speakers and can't fabricate a larger base, I do no recommend these stands.
Okay for budget stands but get something better if your speakers weigh more than 10 lbs.

For reference I'm using Klipsch R-15M bookshelf speakers. I read the reviews prior to purchasing regarding not to use heavy speakers, did so anyways. Yeah they can tip over pretty easily. Luckily I have mine in areas where no one will accidentally hit them but I still don't want them to fall over unexpectedly. Not sure why they didn't go with wider bottoms?

Also, another thing that I didn't like was that one of my orders came beat up (the retail packaging is terrible) and the stand was sticking through. The quality control is also lacking. One of mine had a crack on the plastic piece towards the top. The other order was missing a rubber foot.

My recommendation: Get it for speakers that weigh less than 8 lbs and aren't very large. While mine fit it just fine, the fact they they can tip over without much trouble is a bit disconcerting.
