OK - I will say, this is, without a doubt, the most expensive eyelash curler I've ever bought. And the images on Amazon make it look like every other simple eyelash curler around. How could this POSSIBLY be the best curler???
I saw this on another site with a recommendation, and came to Amazon to check it out. I read a bunch of reviews. It seems there are some fakes floating around, but I figured Amazon would take care of it if I got junk. I haven't had one before, so the proof would be in the results.
I did not get junk. It doesn't pinch me. It actually CURLS my eyelashes, instead of crimping them. I don't know how it does it, but I've never before had my eyelashes curled so well and uniformly! I LOVE this thing!! Yes, it looks like every other curler. But it's NOT. It's magic!

I've been using this eyelash curler for over 15 years and if I had to pick only one tool to have in my makeup bag, this is it. I just bought a second one for my travel bag. It is definitely worth the extra expense vs. drug store brands, because it curls much better and the curl lasts longer. I have eyelashes that are straight and do not curl up at all, so it may not make as much of a difference to those of you with naturally curled eye-lashes, but if you need the extra oomph like me, this outshines cheaper ones.

I've never gone out of the drug store price range for an eyelash curler before and assumed this wouldn't live up to the hype, but it really does work. It didn't seem to be all that different from the cheapo drug store eyelash curlers when I first used it, but when I got home after a day of work and saw myself in my bathroom mirror, I was surprised to see my lashes hadn't lost their curl. (Yes, I know that's exactly what it's supposed to do, but my eyelashes have never held a curl before, so I had low expectations.) It doesn't pull out any lashes when I curl them, it doesn't put an ugly crimp in my lashes even if I press hard, and it doesn't clump my eyelashes together.

So, I had to try one of these famous curlers for myself, in order to see whether they measure up to the hype. I can honestly say that I love it! I find it to be much more comfortable to use than other eyelash curlers, and it truly works without pinching. Mine was sent by JAPACOMO, and it's most definitely a real Shu Uemera. (I found a website that compares knockoffs to the real thing, and it completely matches the description of the legitimate item.) Buy with confidence! :)

Anyone who gives this curler anything less than 5 stars obviously has had very little experience with eyelash curlers. I used the shiseido for years but it started to pinch, I think that was just the age, not the product's fault. When I went to replace, the girl at a particular huge makeup store, who was clearly working on commission, said they were out but "tweezerman is just as good." Could not be further from the truth. That was a waste of money. Anyhow, this is my first time using a shu uemura and I LOVE it! The metal or steel or whatever is very solid and I like the padding a lot. I'm so happy I ordered this and HIGHLY recommend!
