This thing did the job perfectly, I think it really helped that it was so thick but soft enough to squeeze it in the space.

There's not much to say. It was a pliable thick gasket that I had a hard time finding elsewhere. It fixed a leak in the new plumbing I installed because I had a bit of an angle (it was supposed to be flush) between the bath drain and the outlet pipe. A regular rubber gasket failed in this install previous to the Danco gasket.

Seems good for its intended purpose but that's not how I used it. I put it under my chrome overflow cover, which blocks the overflow entirely. Now I can take deeper baths. It's thick and soft enough that it works perfectly.

Obviously you're not supposed to do this per code, but compared to the suction cup covers this looks better and works better. Just gotta be careful not to flood the bathroom. (Personally I set a timer while the tub fills, and I live alone so there's nobody else I have to remind about it.)

Great gasket, very durable

Had a new leak in a very well-maintained 16 year-old house that would run through the floor under our master tub and into the garage when filling/draining the tub, and rather than panic for an expensive plumber call and diagnosis, I decided to think through it all and read some blogs, check some YouTubes. Determined that the few bucks to try and install this new drain shoe gasket would be well worth it - and am so glad that I did. Gasket arrived as described and quickly, sized exactly as indicated, and the pliability/softness of the material gave me an initial idea that I had done the right thing - the original that I pulled off was not cracked or deteriorated, but just very hard; this was likely, just because of age, why it stopped properly sealing that space between the drain pipe under the tub and the drain fitting itself. Installed the new one just by following a couple of YouTube pro tricks (and used plumber's putty, not silicone, for the best old-school results), took about 10 minutes, and perfect, dry results.

Hey, at this point I will change these out in every tub in every home that I own just based on age of the plumbing - you could have minor leaks that don't seep all the way through, but just hang in the inner spaces and dampen your structure, maybe cause mold, attract moisture ants, and every other nightmare that results in thousand$ to repair. Like putting new batteries in a smoke detector - DO IT!
