Can Be Used For Cocorahs
Mike Todd•December 25, 2017
This is a very well made professional product for precision measurements for NOAA, SkyWarn, Cocorahs, etc. It is well worth the price and removes questions of variations in styles and brands. If you use this one, you know it's right!
Great Analog Water gauge.

Great analog water gauge, not so great snow gauge. You are supposed to bring it inside and melt the snow to get a water equivalent which doesn't make sense if I want to measure snowfall.
Easy to use and great for the garden to keep track of how much I water. Next year I will use my old electronic water gauge tho so I can keep track from inside the house.

Great gauge for everyone.

I'm in love with this rain gauge. We mounted it by a gate we drive through and it's crystal clear and easy to read. I had bought the "worlds coolest rain gauge" before, which was pretty but I don't think it was very accurate. This product is great for a farmer who needs keep track of precip. going on their field. I will be buying another one to mount at work!
For those that want accuracy to at least 0.01"

Like the fact I can even measure snow moisture content in the winter. Nice and accurate with 0.01" graduations on the small cylinder. Was somewhat of a bugger to get it level on the tree "stump" I mounted it on but that is more a function of the tree stump and how it was cut. Comparing to a Davis Weather Station they both agree with each other plus or minus but they are mounted about 200 yards apart so that probably explains any differences.
High quality and easy to read!

I purchased this about 3 years ago and it continues to hold up great. There have been times when we had rain and then a sudden freeze and the plastic has not had any problems with cracking.
I really like how the central portion shows rainfall to the 100th of an inch. Each 10th of an inch causes the water level to be recorded as one inch in the central tube. If you get more than an inch, each additional inch of rain can easily be gauged because the main section will fill to the various 10th levels. For example if you get 3 inches of rain, the central tube will be filled and the outer tube will have water up to the .2 inch level.
It is easy to mount but the unit can then be easily removed to dump out water or snow.
If you want a high quality, long lasting rain gauge I can definitely recommend this one. In fact my son has his own home now and has requested the same one for his place.
