I should have paid more attention to the description and less attention to the answers to the questions. The product has an expiration date of 2 weeks after opening, which is too short a time to go through the large bottle. The whole on top is too big. It is not for sclera lenses. The warning label inside states it is only for certain types of lenses. While the bottle is TSA compliant, I could say that about any bottle of lens solution. You are supposed to take it out of your bag and declare it to TSA and show them the note that comes with the product that says it is ok to travel with it because you need it for medical purposes. It would be far more convenient to travel with it if it came in a 3 ounce bottle that wouldn't have to be removed from my bag and declared. Bottles of a good size for travel and amount you can get through in 14 days would be nicer. Also, get FDA approval for sclera lenses if you want to encourage people to use it that way.

The retailer had a good price and good, quick delivery, for which I am thankful.

The only reason why I rate this four stars instead of five is since this is about the only preservative free saline solution on the market, there isn't much other choice. It's good and clean, but the hole created by the lid for opening the bottle (and dispensing the saline to rinse and fill the contact lenses) is a little large which leads to the solution running out fairly quickly. That's not the fault of the retailer who sold this on Amazon, or course, it's a Purilens design problem that just bugs me.

I started using this product for the first time after all the aerosol cans of spray saline disappeared. I used the spray saline every day as an eye wash (in the morning before putting my contact lenses in), as an eye wetter, and to rinse the lenses after soaking overnight in the disinfecting solution. The spray can was the only saline product that didn't make my eyes sting. This PuriLens product appeared to have the same formulation the spray cans had, so I thought I'd try it. Perfect! This saline feels the same in my eye as what came out of the spray can -- no stinging eyes. I'm really glad I found this. This product makes a lot of sense to me, too. Since the plastic bottles don't have the same environmental isolation the spray cans have, they split the volume over several smaller containers to keep the exposure to bacteria down. Several 4oz bottles, vs 12oz cans are easier to travel with as well. This saline solution does exactly what I need it to do and offers a solid alternative to the spray cans. I'm very glad I ran across this option.

I really needed a replacement for Unisol 4 once I finally ran out of my stock. I tried regular saline solutions but usually had to endure a slight, short-lived burning sensation when I put my contacts in, even with "preservative-free" solutions. I have had some sort of thimerasol sensitivity since the late mid 70's when I first started wearing contacts. Once I saw the prices listed when I could find unisol here on Amazon and other internet sites, I thought I was doomed to have to put up with the burning or go back to making my own with saline tablets and purified water.

After looking at various alternatives, including saline meant for other medical uses, I decided to try this product. I am so glad I did! No pain and I can use directly in my eyes as drops like the unisol. The smaller bottles, ok for carrying on planes, is another favorable characteristic.

My only real con: the price. I had thought that retail price for unisol was steep, but the pricing for PuriLens is worse. I chose Amazon because the total product + shipping at the time was the best deal. Always price compare!

So far, so good! I finally ran out of my Unisol solution and had no idea it had been discontinued. I ordered this instead, after reading an online review and was very impressed. I have extremely sensitive eyes, and have only every used Unisol contact solution to store my contacts. However, the Purilens Plus has the same ingredients and is cheaper. Good luck to those looking to replace the Unisol. I would highly recommend the Purlens Plus solution!
