The grand piano of melodicas
Amelia Nelson•July 31, 2017
Had a hohner for years. As a piano player, it seems like it was going to be a great way to play music outdoors, etc. but never found myself very inspired to use it. I was on the fence about getting this one, and I am glad I decided to pull the trigger. I play this one almost every day, and has become a ritual, going to the park at Sunset and playing jazz standards, Irish tunes, whatever. I am starting to get a following at the park"¦ I should start putting my heart out. this thing plays at sounds like a real instrument, the holder was more like a toy.
Overpaid and short a mouthpiece--but still a good product.

Found the mouthpiece in a tiny little pocket in inside the case--hard to see--but other than my price (double the current?) from Suzuki by the Japanese seller at that time, this is a nice instrument, in tune for a melodica--and now with all the parts as expected.
Sounds great, plays well, but I received only the tube with no separate mouthpiece--and my purchase was overpriced at about $100 more--all that was available on Amazon for the M37C 1 month ago. Did not expedite shipment because of the price, and it took about a month to arrive. Nevertheless, I've been a keyboard player and a vocalist for a long time, and this thing plays well and sounds great. Off to find that mouthpiece I thought would come with it...

Great looks, pretty good tone

First of all, delivery was right on time. The instrument is NICE to play -- just heavy enough, aesthetically impressive, and the spit valve at the end is really convenient. Overall it has a nice tone as well, although it has just a hint of a buzz on lower notes (and especially chords) that my cheap plastic melodica doesn't have. Nothing major though, and I think the responsiveness of the keys makes up for the slightly disappointing tone. And by the way, EVERYONE compliments the case it comes in -- really looks sharp. Happy with the purchase and glad I have it.
I'm keepin' it.

This is a cool instrument and doesn't feel at all like a toy. Also comes with a decent case, variation on the mouthpiece and an adapter to use the mouthpiece with a breath tube so you can play while it's setting on your lap. Sound can get fairly loud to the point that the dog will run for cover because it is a fairly bright sound, high in harmonics, and probably shrill to dog ears. I hoped I'd be able to do a little note-bending like a harmonica on this instrument but so far haven't been able to. I'm an ok piano player with small sized hands (I can reach a 10th) and I can get around pretty well on the smaller keys. Looking forward to using this on some recording and live jazz/fusion dates. I'm the type that will return something without hesitation if I'm not feelin' it. I'm keepin' this baby!
Wonderful Instrument, Esp. for the Price!!!
Pammie the bookworm•July 12, 2016
For the price, you cannot beat this instrument! I play it onstage, and everyone who hears it is amazed at the sound that comes from this small keyboard! At parties, it is always a huge hit! It takes very little practice to play this versatile instrument. It is especially good to play with any French or Cajun type of music!
