Absolutely the best locks!

We found these highly reviewed in a children's magazine and bought them after 2 other locks failed (magnetic and adhesive). These are well-made and easy for a parent to use one-handed. We have drawers right above our cabinets, and there's more than enough clearance to fit your finger in (unlike one review stated). My husband drilled them into all of our cabinets and had no issue with the screws provided. He drilled pilots into one of our furniture pieces, but he didn't have a problem without pilots on our wooden cabinets. There is no way our baby could pull the plate/lock out of the cabinet, like he did for the other locks. This lock also does not annoy me like the ones that loop around knobs and require squatting and using two hands to undo and redo the lock...while cooking and handling a toddler. You get what you pay for. Thanks for keeping us sane and our baby safe!
These latches are perfect. High quality plastic

Why reinvent the wheel? These latches are perfect. High quality plastic, doesn't feel like they will break easily and the spring mechanism is still smooth after a month. Just make sure you don't over torque and strip the screw. Most cabinets aren't made of high quality wood and these are not wood screws anyways. If you have cabinets with thin walls you won't need the supplied two part mount, just the main component. For drawers and other similar items, you'll probably need the small white catch post. Easy to install for me, but they need to align correctly. These are meant as permanent door locks.
Easiest install option

Each requires 4 screws to install and we predrilled the holes. Probably overkill, but we have cheap cabinets and didn't want to strip them. Needed more and chose the convenience of a cheaper type available at Target. Poor decision. Still 4 screws, but aligning two separate pieces was a hassle. Made a tedious install much worse. Both styles do have "play" available in the screw holes so if your alignment is a bit off it can be corrected without new holes in the doors, just loosen the screws and adjust. Our little guy found one that he could open by pulling a certain way. We were able to slide up slightly, no problems since. Our cabinet doors are 3/4" thick and the frames are 3/4". My husband wears XXL works gloves and has no problems fitting his big fingers in to open them. Although we don't use it regularly and have just gotten in the habit of unlocking, the disable feature makes the locks unnoticeable. Seems like it would be great for grandparents or other occasional babysitters. Not replacing the ones I don't like, but would definitely spend the extra money on these if I need more.
They don't last. Maybe 6 month lifespan on a heavily-used cabinet door.

These function really nicely while they last. I can't guess how many times you can push the latch down before it eventually breaks, but it is limited. We installed these on all kitchen and bathroom cabinets before my son was born. He is now three years old. There are four adults and two children living in our home. On the heavily-used cabinets, such as kitchen, that are opened many, many times a day, the latches would last around six months. Then the action began to be stiff, the latch would jam shut, then when you could get it open, the spring would fall out a few days later, and the entire thing would have to be removed and replaced. On little-used cabinets like our bathroom (that door gets opened once or twice a day), the latches have lasted about 2 years. I know that people say "teach your kids" not to get into stuff, but really, even a well-behaved child gets into enough stuff that we can't put a latch on, without them getting into all the cabinets too! It might seem like six months is a long time to last, but if you multiply replacing them one by one, as they randomly give out, by all the cabinets you put it on, it's a huge pain. I will not purchase these again for our new home, because they just don't last long enough for any cabinet that gets opened more than once a day.
Easily broken, came without screws, lots of constraints

The idea behind these locks is great but we had quite a few problems with these.
1. We couldn't get these installed in the drawers in our kitchen because we have granite tops and there isn't any wood above the drawer for us to install these.
2. We couldn't get these installed in drawers that were above one another for the same reason as above. So these really only work for drawers that have a piece of wood at the top where you can screw it on.
3. In our first purchase, we broke 2 of the locks during installation itself - it is not as strong as it seems.
4. In our second purchase, they all came without screws. Luckily we had some similar screws on hand.
5. We installed some of these in the kitchen cabinet doors right next to the oven and we had a problem where the oven door blocks the angle where you are supposed to put your finger in to undo the latch. So we had to use a short spoon/ butter knife (whatever is available) to undo the latch through the narrow angle.
