Worthless piece of Chinese Junk! Point it directly at the noon day sun and after an hour or so, maybe it will go off. 10 minutes later and it's on again? I have been adjusting this thing every hour, since dawn trying to get it to stay off and it's been on most of the day! They work as intended. Includes wiring instructions to make the job easier. I installed it on my detatched garage to turn on the exterior lights on the driveway-facing side at dusk. No more walking out to the garage to turn on the lights at night!

Just like other reviewers, I ordered black ones, but received grey ones. Turns out the grey blended in with my fixture better anyway, but keep in mind, you will probablu receive grey.

Works great! Consistently detects sunset/sunrise changeovers, with no errors on cloudy or overcast days. I added this to a light with no sensor. Add-on screw-in types never worked well, even with having a clear glass light cover. The fixture is for the patio and gets a lot of shade.

I spent about $2.50 to get a short piece of PVC electrical tubing, an elbow, and C-clamp. I used it to feed the wiring thru and mount it on the outside of the building. I was able to place the sensor as far away from the light as possible and closer to where it can catch more sun. Used a bit of silicone in the end of the tube to seal it. With the sensor being grey and tubular itself, it blends in nicely on the side of the building. You hardly notice it.

The wires that come with it aren't especially long, but it was enough distance towards the sun for my application. Easy to splice more wire and use a weatherproof shrink wrap on the splice if more length is needed.

If it continues to function, it's well worth the $8! I'll update if it dies an early death.

Easy to hook up, I had switched from another brand because the other brand was getting hot to the touch. This one also warms up to the touch, I called the company and they advised not to use LED lights on this product. Unhooked led light and left one florescent bulb attached but unit still gets warm to the touch. I have another 4 of these, one on each corner of the house, all connected to 30 watt LED lamps and have not had a problem and they are not warm to the touch. Just checked the listing for this product and it says it will work with LED lighting.

This product, although advertised as black, both in the description and in the photo, is NOT black. It is gray. A light gray. It's going to stick out from my other landscape lighting, which is either black or very dark antique brown. I already returned this when I purchased from one vendor, so apparently the manufacturer has changed it, since this vendor sent the exact same thing. Be warned if you expect a black unit.
