I bought this to replace an existing worn brass mechanism on one of our pocket doors. Installing the unit on the door was very easy, just pull a few screws from the old unit, slip this one on the door, and put in a few screws. In my case I was replacing an non-locking mechanism with this locking unit so I did have to do some work with a drill and chisel to install the strike plate on the door frame, but that wasn't too bad since the included strike plate is a clean rectangle. I'm going to get another one for our other pocket door.
