Didn't know this was primarily a cold smoker, did not say in the description, got this for my son for Christmas, he has to cook everything in oven after smoking, even with the insulated cover I purchased separately and after I bought this.

Great little smoker for the price. This is my second one I've had. The first one lasted over 10 years of smoking ALOT of Deer jerky and fish. I've tried several other smokers and the Little Chief works the best for me.

Great - basic, no-frills smoker for the price. I bought this to smoke Steelhead (trout) and it does a great job. I've never smoked meat or fish before, so I bought this smoker as a starter model. The capacity is decent for the size and it is easy to maintain. I've used it during 3 fishing seasons (1 1/2 years) with no problems. I'd highly recommend it if you are a beginner/novice to smoking meat and fish. Happy smoking!
