Asparagus in Water

These are all asparagus tips and stems, the good parts. They are mostly cut above the tougher, stringy bases. I've ordered these several times now and only had one or two cans that had asparagus with tough, stringy bases. Asparagus is on the CLEAN 15 list of non-organic veggies that are usually found to be clean and clear of pesticides.
The cans are sometimes dented but I don't care since I'm not eating the cans. The spears are mushy, yes, this is what happens when you put asparagus in water. My only gripe is the price is a little steep.

I have always preferred the taste and texture of Green Giant asparagus and have often eaten it right out of the can. I am now pureeing it, saving it in a jar and mixing 3 tbls of it with 2 tbls of apple cider vinegar which I drink during the afternoon. Since I have recently developed a dislike of most vegetables (working on that) I believe this gives me some of the vitamins I may be missing. Green Giant asparagus is consistently good.

I love asparagus. While I prefer fresh, it isn't always available at a reasonable price. It is so nice to be able to make cream of asparagus soup any time I want in just a few minutes. Or just add it to a salad, etc. For a canned product it isn't too salty and has a really good asparagus taste - not canny.

this product would have gotten five stars if the size of the spears weren't so inconsistent. Normal would not have mattered but for when you are serving more than one can. I love this stuff! And it doesn't hurt that there are many articles out about how asparagus is so beneficial for your health. Worth looking that up. oh and a great price!!

Oh my gosh, I love these cans of Asparagus. They are so long and great for ham rolls or any dish. I sometimes eat mine just heated in the microwave and add a little cheese of your choice. It has a rich flavor and I even drink the juice. I will continue to keep these on hand. They are also very healthy for you...
