Used this to route out some hearts for daughters furniture. Very nice router bit, sharp and precise. Having the centering pin and brass bushings make for an excellent set. Very pleased.

I am very pleased with the quality and fit and finish of the parts in this kit. I have used it a number of times with both purchased and homemade templates. The inlay pieces fit nicely with a minimum of preparation and with no gaps between the inlay and the work piece. This was my first experience with Whiteside products ----- in fact, I never heard of the company before this purchase.

The picture is a teapot stand and coaster with an inlay of a chrysanthemum for a Chinese tea room. I made my own templates for the various parts of the flower. Although it's a bit amateurish, it shows what you can do with the kit and a minimum of inlay skills.

So, today I was looking for some router bits for mortising and discovered that Whiteside makes those too. Based on my experience with this kit and the excellent reviews of the router bits, I decided to go with Whiteside again. Move over Freud. You've got some stiff competition here in the States.

First time I did an inlay and this product worked well. Going forward I plan on doing more projects with inlays because this product coupled with good templates made it easy and fun to do.

There is a reason I only (mostly) buy Whiteside bits from Amazon, simply, they work and the price is right. I make jewelry boxes and depending on the design, I inlay objects (usually Agate stones) into the tops or fronts. I used to do this by hand, but the numerous small curves were getting impossible to chisel out cleanly.

I finally broke down and went electric, and using the Whiteside inlay kit, my inlays look like they are part of the wood.

As an aside, I recently broke a 1/16" straight bit the first time I used it, and thinking it was defective, contacted Whiteside. They had me return the bit and sent me a new one, even though the breakage was my fault (didn't know this at the time). And they considered it a courtesy replacement.

Now, how are you going to fnd fault with a company like that. Great products and great service.
