GREAT COMPRESSION!

This is my second purchase of true compression hose as I am trying to find hose comfortable, efficient, and with a good price point. The first purchase was from a different brand, which are a bit scratchy. The Jobst Relief are comfortable next to my skin, and do not scratch. (Older skin is sensitive.) Upon opening I noticed the sewing loose on the band of one of the stockings, but stitching otherwise seemed intact. I chose the open toe because footless are not available, but in the future will choose closed toe as the hose do shrink and tighten as the day wears on. The thigh-high also slide down after a very short time, and I have slender legs. I put water on the thigh under the band and it helps the hose stay in place better. My measurements: 155 lbs; ankles = 8.25; calves = 14.5; and thighs = 20 inches. As expected they are tight to pull on, and I use doning gloves to pull the hose on, and am careful not to pull on the band when pulling the hose. I do have a concern about the percentage of Spandex in the hose, and it does not seem consistent from one vendor to another, compression being anywhere from 23% to 28%. The seller was responsive to my question about Spandex percentage, and this pair is advertised at 28%. My concern is that a pair with 23% Spandex may have inconsistency in fit and compression-feel. I am happy with the hose and the compression, but do require a garter belt to keep them from slipping at the thigh. I have venous insufficiency, and need the thigh compression to assist with pain, and may try the pantyhose so that I can ditch the garter belt! I really like the Jobst brand compared to the one I initially purchased, and probably will not try another brand. I am pleased with this purchase. I have to decide which other pair I will order, pantyhose, or thigh-high. I would not hesitate to reorder from this vendor.
Thank you

I had my hip replaced recently, and was not given any Tet hose in the hospital or from home health.
I know Jobst is one of the best brands, but the reviews here say that the"Jobst Relief" brand is inferior.
Well, I bought 2 pair of these in thigh-high, open toe: 1 in Large, and I in Medium, to follow the decrease of swelling post-operatively.
Both of these sizes fit great! I have very thin "birdie" legs, and these Tet hose fit perfectly. Even the tops stayed up with the special "gripping" material on the top.
I went ahead and put both hose on, even though I only "needed" one for the left leg. Well, your legs feel like they are being hugged and massaged all day!
The ONLY negative thing about these Tet hose (really ANY Tet hose), is breaking them in. My husband was exhausted after helping me put them on the first time. Only now, after weeks of use, do they easily slip on like hose. It is still difficult to pull them off around your heel.
I also don't know why I bought open- toe. They feel weird, swelling ends up around the foot, and they are rather uncomfortable in general. I'll get closed toe from now on!
Comfortable

I did not purchase these compression stockings for deep vein thrombosis, rather I purchased them for leg cramps that have been plaguing me for the last 3-4 months. I'm pregnant and it seems like no matter what I do to prevent the leg cramps, I still get them. They were worst in the first trimester then went away for a couple weeks... now in the second trimester they're coming back and I didn't want to suffer through them or use hot baths or a heating pad for temporary relief. I wanted something I could put on and leave on while I sleep to assure that my legs don't ache throughout the night.
I had tried an ace bandage in the first trimester for the worst of it and found that compression worked really well. I had spoken with my OB about compression stockings and she said they were a good idea - so I finally broke down this month and bought these. I wanted something that will last awhile (I still have five months to go after all!) and offer the tight compression that I need to relieve the cramps. I had considered purchasing the next step up in compression but am glad that I chose these instead.

Upon opening the box and pulling out the stockings, my first thought was: Are these really thigh-highs? Don't worry if they look a little short because they stretch as you put them on. Based on my measurements I could have purchased a medium, but after reading a review where someone had said they ordered the next size up instead to assure they stretched all the way to right bellow the butt, I decided that this was probably a good choice as well (the leg cramps do go throughout my legs all the way to my hips - I would have purchased one that would come up over my hips but I didn't think compression on my abdomen would be comfortable, especially through the third trimester). I measured again and checked the sizing for large and found that this should still fit and I'm really glad I chose the large.
The compression on these is really tight! As they should be! A large was rather easy to put on (though more difficult than your typical thigh-high sock or tights - simply because they need to be tight to offer the compression). I love that the space around the heel is looser than the rest of the fabric, so you don't have uncomfortable compression on a spot with no give. There is also enough space in the footing that it does not compress my feet (which is good for me since I don't need compression here), but the stockings do come all the way down to the start of my toes (and almost to the knuckle on my littlest toe).

Thus far I have not had any problems with rolling (this may be part of the benefit of having bought the next size up), and these are not uncomfortably tight on my thighs (in fact they have an appropriate amount of space in the thighs for me (I would not say I have overly small nor overly large thighs). The area with the anti-slip silicone bumps is quite wide (about an inch and a half or so), and I expect it to hold quite well. I have only been wearing these for about an hour and intend on wearing them throughout sleep so that will be the ultimate test (as I tend to toss and turn quite a bit).

The material is also appropriately thick and as per my experience with this type of fabric and other compression garments, I expect it to last quite awhile before the compression loosens or the fabric tears. I'll be sure to edit this to note if or when either of these things occur... but honestly, as long as they last through my pregnancy, I'll be a happy camper (and I don't think they'll have any problem with that).

I am so incredibly satisfied and look forward to the next five months without the horrible leg cramps.
