Great for picking up small debris...not for nails or other heavier stuff.

Don't believe the specs on this unit.....It can barley lift a few ounces....I purchased this lifter to be used exclusively for separating stainless steel tumbler pins....It failed at this task completely.....It would take half an hour to collect five pounds of SS pins with this wimp of a lifter....It would turn what should be a One, Two ,Three affair into a laborious chore..... Another flaw of this unit is that it will retain water...... Bite the bullet and purchase a heavy duty unit that can lift Four or Five pounds a lift and will not retain water...This is a toy.....For this units capabilitys it is ridiculously over priced......
