Got one of these for a DIY Home Automation/Alarm project. Wired it up to a 12V DC power adapter and it works as expected. I wish it was brighter, but for my needs it is fine. I wish it had more flexible mounting options. You can easily screw the base onto a flat surface. I just wish the bottom was completely flat so I could more easily afix it to the wall with adhesive tape. The wires are accessible from the bottom and are meant to be wired into a 12V DC power source. I wired a female barrel connector to it instead so I could plug a standard 12V DC power adapter with a make barrel plug.
