It's important to mount this plastic hatch on a completely flat surface! Boats are curved. You may have to build up a perfectly flat surface in order for this hatch to seal correctly. I used epoxy filler. Otherwise, if mounted bent, this hatch WILL leak from gaps in it's o-ring seal! Once installed correctly, I am very happy with the size and function of this hatch!
