This is a great little car stand
googily moogily✓ Verified Purchase•April 4, 2017
This is a great little car stand. I agree that it would be nice if the top would clip onto the bottom when broken down, but it doesn't bother me enough to remove a star. The little parts tray is nice to put pieces as they come off of the truck too.
My Traxxas Stampede doesn't quite fit as the wheelbase isn't long enough and it sits on the supports. A small block of wood fixed that issue. My Nitro Rustler fits great, just make sure the center of mass is actually on the platform.

Good stand for working on your RC Car

This stand works well for general maintenance on the RC cars and testing. Do need to make sure the balance of the car is correct when getting it up on this and if you start taking large components off you risk the car tipping, but that would be the case with any stand. Comes apart and stores itself small enough that it easily goes in any mobile tool box, so also good for taking out to the track or to play for any quick repairs.
Well worth it, but could use some things to be perfect.

For the price it is totally worth it, in fact this one is my second.
Pro's - Plain and simply it works and does its job. It is not black so if you drop a screw in the parts tray you can actually see it. They also make one in orange BTW. Also considering how much gets spent on the cars themselves and the parts, the $15 for this is nothing and saves a bit of the frustration, so well worth it.
Things that could be better: A bit more weight in the base unit, while this is not really needed it would just make me feel better when putting a heavy RC car on it like my 1/8 scale Duratrax 835, or that matter one of the super light cars. A slightly larger top plate where it has some holes for placing things like screwdrivers for quick access. Having some optional parts might be cool too, like different height or stackable center posts so you can raise it up higher to work on in locations where 5" may not be enough, also a drop in magnetic tray adapter would be nice to have.

Well worth the money even though its plastic

Very nice for what it does, hold my 1/8th scale buggy no problem, makes it so much easier to work on these heavier larger RC vehicles. I use a large rubber band to hold it all together once I am through with it and store it away.
I agree, needs a large rubber band

This thing is cheap and great. Swings around 360 degrees with ease. Has a little tray to put your tools and screws while working on something, just awesome. I'm deducting a star because or short-sightedness on behalf of the manufacturer. They go and put 4 holes on the stand itself with 4 pegs on the base. These line up perfect for storage.....BUT NOTHING TO RETAIN THEM TOGETHER. So when you toss it into your bag or box it just comes apart with easy and then you had a heavy metal rod banging around your gear (bad). Get a large rubber band and you're solid.
