So much fun

I'm typing with a slightly bruised wrist (should have worn my wrist guards!) and ankle (thinking about ordering some basketball type sneakers) when I bit it a couple of times riding this RipStik, but those minor injuries do not take away from the fact that this is one fun ride! I'm convinced my stomach might be a little flatter too, but given that I only started riding this 2 days ago, I can't say this as a scientific fact. I'll report back after a year :) I'm not the most coordinated person in the world, but I did snowboard a tiny bit in my younger days. I do laugh at myself though when I'm on it, though, as I am an almost 40-yr old mom, and it's even funnier when my kids (who are still little) think I'm cool riding it. I figure when they get older I can get them to do their chores quicker if I threaten to show up at their school riding this thing.

Best toy EVER!!!

Purchased to replace my son's Ripster that he finally outgrew. Purchasing a RipStik was one of the best toy purchases I have ever made! Both my kids (boy and girl now ages 15 and 16) have one and have used them since they were 10, first using the smaller Ripster, and now the full-sized RipStik. (If your kid is under the age of 13, I highly recommend starting with the smaller Ripster so they don't have to stretch their legs quite so far!) This was one of those toys I said would either be a total flop or the best thing ever. Well, happily, the latter is true! So popular, now our whole youth group has one because they were so enthralled watching my kids on theirs! Both kids learned inside (I have hardwood floors) by going around and around my kitchen table, holding on when needed. No marks on my floor either! Then they practiced going down the hallway, where walls were available for support when needed. After a few weeks, they were unstoppable anywhere! So much more fun than a skateboard! My son can turn on a dime in the tightest of spaces, and can propel himself on even flat surfaces with no need to push off with one foot. They love riding it in our church basement, which is smooth concrete! I'm still amazed watching them on this thing! Reminds me of surfing! Upper body is nearly motionless as feet and legs discreetly maneuver the foot plates by merely shifting weight. Great for any paved surface, but the smoother the better. Surfaces with random pebbles or rocks should be avoided, as hitting one can stop you in your tracks. Get one!
Gave me battle wounds

Went through a quater life crisis, bought this thinking I'd try something fun and maybe get some excercise. Put on helmet (obviously too cool for elbow and knee pads) took for a test run. Successfully road it about 20 feet, ate it hard on pavement, ripped up my elbow, hastily limped away in defeat and shame. Promptly gave to 12 year old nephew next day.

Once my emotional and physical wounds healed I asked him if he liked it he said he loved it and showed me how he'd already mastered it in all it's swivel glory (yes he wore appropriate protective gear you know, because he's not a fool).

In summation: it's a fun product, definitely well built, great activity for kids, maybe not so much for 29 year old clumsy adults. Now his brother wants one too...they're both showing me up!
Gets me around the office with ease!

For me it wasn't easy to learn, but after a lot of practice over a few weeks I have the hang of it.

I use it to get around the office building where I work ðŸ˜
