I was delighted with my purchase. The art Gods smiled upon me and bestowed an upgrade. The handles have a delicate engraving making them the Grafilo model not the Reserva, that being the only difference between the two. Handling them in the studio was a learning curve for me, as I'm used to a more strict snap, and much larger brushes, as well, but these smaller sizes were meant to round out my fleet for smaller, more delicate work. The points are unsurpassable. The release is dependable. And they are very sensitive. I am very pleased and will return when I feel the need to re-visit. I only gave one star for traveling as they are studio only.
Change packaging. Something not foldable and break brush in halfable.

I feel bad giving a 4. I love the brush. However the packaging was sketchy for me. Just an insulated envelope. It arrived though so heck yeah. However my brush doesn't match the images. It's honestly cooler then the one pictured. So 5 in spirit.

I have been using da Vinci series 10, 11 and 35 for some time and decided to give Escoda a try since quality control issues have been more and more with da Vinci brand which is hit or miss when ordering from Amazon. The Escoda brush is lovely, it glides along the paper so effortlessly and smooth. It is smaller than the da Vinci size 8 however I think has a slightly smoother feel about it. It is the first of many to come and really enjoy this brush. Lastly I have noticed that between da Vinci and this Escoda brush after using for a few weeks is that da vincis bristles when dry will splay more than Escoda. In other words Escoda when dry is not as fluffy as the da Vinci brush and the hairs stay straight, this leads me to think this is the reason why I have a slightly smoother glide across the paper vs the DaVinci.

I have wanted to invest in a really great brush for watercolor and Kolinsky Sable seems to be it. In this size it is within what I am willing to pay. I was somewhat disappointed when the brush arrived as it seemed smaller than I had expected and had hairs that splayed out, but when it was used they came together and made a nice point. It holds adequate water/paint. The shorter handle is comfortable to use. I do like it.
