This stuff is not cheap but it's pretty awesome. We ended up using 2 full pallets for our play area which ended up costing not much less than the actual play structure itself. At 4-6" deep the kids pretty much bounce off the ground when they fall though, so the savings will probably come from unneeded Medical Co-pays/deductibles! Two minor gripes though... this isn't "recycled" rubber, it seems to be shredded tires that are painted. You can still see the tire treads in a lot of the pieces. When they shred them, they don't get all of the belting out of them so there are globs of nylon and bits of string sticking out of pieces. Fortunately we haven't come across any steel belting yet. Not sure how they avoid that but we are thankful. Overall, if you can afford it then it's great stuff! I guess time will tell how long the paint stays stuck to the otherwise black rubber.
Expensive but worth it.

I build a playground for my kids and I had a dilemma on what to use to protect their little precious heads from the ground. So after shopping around and reading reviews this was the best choice for the price. This comes in a pallet with about 130 bags of mulch. the product is better than grass, wood mulch and sand. The next better choice in mind are the rubber tiles but they are probably twice as expensive with the same protection. Leaves and debris are easy to clean out with a blower since the rubber mulch is heavier and stays at the bottom. I would recommend this for any parents that wants to protect their children.
Very happy with this mulch.

The rubber mulch was delivered very quickly and right to our driveway ,easy to move, as well as soft to walk on. We really didn't notice any rubber smell but it does have dust particles from the paint but if you just spray it down the dust will wash off.
Good product

I needed a few more bags to make my children's playground richer. The product arrived on time and matched what I had previously. The price was not too bad either. Highly recommend it.
Good for DIY playground

I bought this mulch for a backyard playground (monticello 35011) after a lot of price shopping. A palette was shipped to my door in convenient 40 lb bags, which are easily moved by wheelbarrow. It basically looks like bark mulch, except it's made of recycled tire rubber so it's naturally softer. The single palette was adequate for 100% coverage but I will probably buy another later to create a thicker layer (it's pretty expensive). At first, after laying it down, there is a strong rubber smell because the unpacked rubber starts outgassing. This is really a non-issue because it eventually dissipates after after a couple of days, but it is worth noting. I have been very happy with it - it definitely makes the area safer for the kids.
