Great product but one problem.

The product is good. It's really sturdy and well built and easy as pie to install. One problem. The packaging is terrible and was falling apart and opened on my porch. I have seen other complaints about this and I'm lucky nothing was missing during shipping. The manufacturer needs to fix this. Simply a bigger box and better packaging would do it.
Qyality an nuce looking at great price

There are cheaper options but after checking reviews and designs vs price this looked like a great choice. After getting it and laying out, measuring, I realized it would fit above garage door. Studs oddly spaced so on one end had to drI'll the plate as per directions. I hand tighten last bit of lag bolts as you can strip out with air wrench.
The width is totally enough for my Subaru Outback wheels. I was still getting tires but have picture of tack.
I have a welder but this was so low priced and good looking making one made no sense.
Almost Perfect

The box arrived with a tear in it but do not worry. All the pieces are zip tied to each other so it goes nowhere. The directions say 30 but it took me much longer.
My original plan was to start in a corner of the garage. The hole layout on the top rail really goes not allow this. So I start 16" from a corner but I gather because of the furnace not all studs were 16" apart which meant I had to drill two holes in the top racks. That actually went fine. The top rack is two pieces that mount next to each other to equal one rack. Alias the joint was one of the studs not 16". If this happens to you you can relocate the hole on one half of the rack but not the other. I ended up using a 50 lb rated Molly with the other 5 lag screws solid in studs.
The rest is straight forward. Slip each side in and attach three chrome rods. All of this is adjustable and I measured a tire ahead of time to get the rods right. One goes in back and two below.
The sides are in the rack at the top but floats at the bottom with a rubber pad at the bottom to protect the wall. It is all in and looks and works fine. We even put a sheet of wood on top to create a shelf that we put some bulky but light containers on.
The rated weight is 400 pounds and you should not mount one rack below anoth. In other words never two racks attached to the same stud. I just created a holder from 2x4s below for another set of tires.
All in all I am happy. It was not quite as adjustable for placement as I had though but in the end it works and looks great.
Great tire rack, easy installation, used for heavy SUV tire and rims

Bought and installed this tire rack to store SUV winter tires and rims over the summer. Installation was easy, the top rail offers mounting holes to mount directly on the studs in your wall. The bottom rail offers very large diameter rubber bumpers that are supposed to press directly against the drywall, and I suppose the large diameter of 5" is meant to distribute the load. I installed a thin board on the wall for these lower bumpers to press against, not trusting where they might contact the drywall. It all went together per the instructions. The rack installation part of the project is easy. The hard part for me was lifting the tire and rim combos for an SUV onto the rack at about shoulder level. They are heavy but well under the weight rating for this shelf. I have four tire/rims stored, plus a spare from another SUV, five total, and the width is fine, with about 10% of the sliding width adjustment left over.
Very sturdy and easy to assemble

I bought this rack to store my winter tires in the summer and my summer set in the winter. My summer wheels/tires are 19" and the rears are 265s and there is probably 18-24" left to spare so fitting vette or Porsche tires should be no problem. The installation was very easy because all the hardware's included and the holes in the wall bracket are pre-drilled for 16" studs. I made sure all connections were firmly in the studs and the unit is rock-solid. To give you an idea I park my BMW underneath with confidence!!! The only challenge is figuring out the spacing for the bars to fit your tires/wheels before putting it up.

Lastly, the only negative was that the box showed up absolutely destroyed. I refuse to accept a package in that condition so I called Amazon and they sent a new one and made it right without any hassle. Even the second shipment was in slightly rough condition but the rack was not damaged in any way so I kept it.

Would buy it again in a heartbeat. Love having the wheels out of the way and the rack looks great in my garage!
