Great kayak , needs seat back suport tho.
Amazon CustomerNovember 12, 2017
This was a gift to my Brother and his Daughters. They love it! Reason I didn't give 5âââââ is because the seats have zero back support. I took a five gallon bucket and cut down both sides to the bottom and cut around leaving the entire bottom of the bucket for the seat base to sit on. The half of the upper portion of the bucket goes behind the blowup seat to give it some support. Its a crude fix but is better than the way it is. I'm a big man over 6ft and 250 lbs and it supports me well without sagging.
Fun little kayak!

I am a first-time kayaker, and purchased this because it was inexpensive, just to see if I would like kayaking. I ended up having so much fun that I purchased a second one that is two-person. This kayak is perfect for those with limited storage at home and small cars. The oar can be disassembled and that makes storing and transporting helpful. You can fit a lunch-box size cooler underneath the net, and there is space under the nose to store towels or small items. This is a great kayak for day trips, and performs well on both placid and choppy waters. I've had a great deal of fun with it. I would recommend opening the package immediately upon receipt and inflating it to look for problems. Reviews from unhappy customers delayed opening the box for months. It does come with patches for emergencies, but I haven't needed those yet. Read the directions, and don't over-inflate. I would buy this kayak again.
I love, love

I love, love, love the Challenger K1, but the K2 is a different kettle o' fish! Here are all the reasons that I dislike it and will leave it at home if possible.

* It doesn't hold its shape nearly as well as the K1, because it's just too damn long.

* However, it's not long enough for two people to paddle comfortably. You're always bumping paddles or getting knocked in the back of the head if you're in the front.

* Speaking of sitting in the front, you'd be better off just taking the damn front seat right out. The seat back collapses, no matter how you tighten the strap and leaves you with zero back support and sitting in a super uncomfortable position.

It's also too heavy and awkward for me to carry on my own, but that's more of a personal thing. I chose the K1 for size, weight and convenience, I am wishing that I'd bought two K1's for my husband and son rather than messing around with this one.
A good cheap way to get out on the water

A good cheap way to get out on the water.

Pros:
- Price
- Fits easily in a car trunk, including paddles
- Pretty fast to set up and break down (doesn't take much longer than dealing with a hard shell kayak secured to a roof rack)
- Since it's flexible, it rolls more gently over waves than a hard shell

Cons:
- Hull flexibility makes it a bit sluggish
- Inflatable seats not great for lower back support (pretty fatiguing if using for more than and hour or two)
- Included paddles are fairly wobbly.
- Doesn't track great, especially with two people (but, it's a bit big to paddle solo)
- It's a bit of a pain to get it properly dried out for storage.

We bought two Intex two person kayaks, the Challenger and the Explorer. The Challenger looks and feels sleeker, but is more difficult to dry out. The Explorer is roomier and feels more like a canoe with seats.

This kayak was super easy to inflate and only took 5-10 minutes to set up (you will need one person to hold the pump to the valve and one to pump). It fit nicely in the back of my Nissan Versa Note, which is a smaller hatchback. My friend and I took it on a local mild river and we never felt tippy or like the water was going to flood the kayak at all. The only downfall is it's very difficult to steer and the two people kayaking have to be of similar weights or else the other sinks down quite a bit. For the price, is was a great purchase!
