My sweeper is so much easier to push and it picks up better. Like when it was new

Changed the roller brush and what a difference! My sweeper is so much easier to push and it picks up better. Like when it was new. It was also very easy to change. Should have done it sooner!!!
Perfect replacement roller for my Oreck
Amazon Customer•October 14, 2017
The replacement roller was identical and worked perfectly. I cant believe the difference in performance with a new roller. The Oreck dealer wanted $90 to replace roller and belt and maintenance on the vacuum which only consists of blowing out the hair, dust, etc around the motor, nothing that will really compensate for the difference in price. I saved $70 doing it myself and it only took less than 10 minutes for everything.
Does not fit all XL 2000 as advertised
John•January 6, 2017
Does not fit all XL 2000 as advertised. Learned this by taking to a vacuum repair shop when the new brush killed the vacuum. Seller needs to get their act together and be VERY SPECIFIC about which models it fits.
This does not have a magnet that is required for some Oreck 2000 XL uprights.

Not for XL Platinum or XL22
Pessex•March 10, 2016
Looks like a quality roller, not some cheap knockoff. Unfortunately, I have an XL Platinum, which takes a roller that's about an inch & a half longer.
Here's how to tell which one you have:
Look at the very end (either end; they'll both be the same) and look for the edge brushes. If it's two single brushes 180° apart and all brushes are on the wooden part of the roller, then this is not the roller for you.
If instead you have 2 pairs of single brushes 180° apart, and one set is on the plastic part of the roller (which you can see on the picture for this roller), then you are in the right place and should order this roller.
I hope that helps somebody. Btw, if this is not the right roller for you then you can search on "Oreck XL Platinum roller brush" and you should find the right one here on Amazon.

Easy peasy!

I've had my Oreck XL Pro serviced ever 18-24 months since I purchased it in 2008ish. Even the "free" service calls ran me around $50 for brushes or whatever; it also left my without my upright for at least a week. Emboldened by my recent success doing my own maintenance on my Roomba with parts from Amazon, I thought I would give my Oreck a go.
My stunningly reasonable (easily 60% less than in the vac shop) new brush arrived less than 30 minutes ago; I've already vacuumed my living room! Much of that time was spent searching for a screw driver (simple Phillips head. You have one in your junk drawer) and finding an instructive video on YouTube. The actual task took about 120 seconds beginning to end. In the process I also learned that, when the time comes, I will find a belt on Amazon and be able to replace it just as easily.
Now my Oreck runs as great as it did the day it came home, and I have about $40 left in my pocket.
Win win!
