I love this game. I'm a virtual pet collector so when I saw this I knew I had to add it to my collection. This is a game where you make a virtual character modeled after yourself and you live your life in this game. You have to feed, bathe, educate, and take care of your character.

so we've pretty much given up as our main character seems permanently ...

I purchased it for my daughter and she played with it for one day. It is cute, and entertaining for a short while but my daughter and I both had a hard time with the virtual reality world, with our girl getting stuck in some virtual rooms. I opted not to spend hours learning how to play the game myself, so we've pretty much given up as our main character seems permanently trapped.
