I have large calves and they were tricky and painful to put on
Nathan Beyer✓ Verified PurchaseJune 24, 2017
Pros - These fit perfectly, I have large calves and they were tricky and painful to put on, as they yanked the hair on my legs, but once on, they stayed up pretty well until I was pretty sweaty, and even then only had minimal slipping. They gave great support when lifting heavy weight, and I liked the thickness. The price was fair for a pair of them.

Cons - They began tearing within about 2 months, along the back. I was using them 1-2 times a week for one hour at a time max. The tear started small but got much larger with each use. It got to the point that they were easy to put on, but also did not feel as though they were supporting the knee as well as they had. I purchased Rehband knee sleeves after that, and they have held up much longer.
meh

Provide good warmth and support. However, they are a total pain to put on and take off. They also tear quite easily. You could spend extra and buy rehbands or you could get something of slightly better quality for less than these. Either way, there are better options than TK sleeves
Absolutely cannot recommend these if intended for knees

Absolutely cannot recommend these if intended for knees. Note they give size recommendations for elbow circumference, which is as it should be.
But for knee sizing, they give weight recommendations. Medium is for ppl who weigh 130-250? BALONEY. Go find a few you know who weigh near 130 and near 250, look at their knees, even measure them if possible. NO WAY is Medium one size fits all. If they are too tight, you may not even be able to pull them up. If they are easy to pull up, then, what's the use? If you think it will be ok cause you're right in the middle, that depends. I am 5'10" and 200 lbs, my proportions appear normal. I can barely get the sleeves up. Also, my feet are kinda small, 9 1/2 shoe, I'm ok there. If you are a few shoe sizes up, your difficulty may begin right there, regardless of weight. Some ppl will get just the right fit, others will waste their money, it's all a guessing game.
Excellent joint support and warming, particularly for folks who lift heavy or have an achy joint.

I love this thing! I have never had a knee injury after years of squatting, but I decided to use these as a precautionary measure since I'm regularly repping quite heavy (for me) now on squats/deadlifts. This product provides a little support, but not so much that it creates a noticeable "spring" or lift-assistance. It may help me when I do a set of 20+ squats, but on weights for which I only do 8 or fewer reps, I see no increase in performance; only an increase in comfort.

What I DO notice is that my knees no longer feels fatigued after really heavy lifts or after long training sessions. The sleeves effectively keep the joints warm and better optimizes blood flow (or so, I gather). They also afford a little stability to avoid/minimize deviation of the position of the knee. The sleeve is not tight, but it WILL tear at your leg hair unless you shave it, trim it, or use powder.

I used to feel discouraged from really heavy lifts and long lifting sessions...but no longer.
both size medium but different size

so being that i squat 3 times a week my knees started to feel tender every know and then. i already have knee sleeves but with open patella and they are ok at warming up the knees but i wanted more compression. the Tommy Kono sleeves are the cheapest on the market so why not give them a try.

i weight 150lb so i got the medium. when i got them i was surprised at how thick they felt. one thing i noticed right away was that one seemed slightly bigger. they also wernt symmetrical. i hoped that wasnt going to be a problem so i tried to put them on.

i heard they are hard to put on if you have hairy legs and its true. you cannot adjust them without painfully tearing hairs. so you have to figure out the trick to putting them on.... flip inside out, pull them up, and flip them into place. it takes some practice and time. youtube it. its painful. imagine removing a band aid thats been on for a while.

while putting them on one was hard to put on and the other was easier. so it was obvious 1 was infarct bigger. workout day came and i put them on and wobbled to the squat rack. they felt great. the compression was nice. knee warmth was quick. i squatted with them and they felt good but they did not have equal compression. i was able to finish my workout but it was distracting.

so thats my experience. i probably would have enjoyed my purchase if my sleeves didnt come in slightly different sizes. both had size medium on the tags. i returned mine. i might try again to see if i have better luck next time.
