My wife loves this. The best home coffe maker.
Brian Excarnate✓ Verified Purchase•September 21, 2017
My wife loves it. She likes this better than anything short of a Nitro with sweet cream or a perfect cappuccino (very hard to find where we live).
I got it for camping, and even got the steel filter, but the paper filters are great. The plastic this is made out of is that very tough kind of plastic found on outdoor items that are made to last for years. Also, this plastic cleans well with a quick rinse. The inverted method of brewing is, from all I'm told (by wife and friends), is superior to the method in the instructions, so be sure to look it up.
The bag is a nice extra, the funnel isn't that necessary. The scoop is handy and better than the usual "scoop included" scoops. The paddle will never be used, we use a stainless steel chopstick or a small spoon to stir. The paper filter holder is nice, as is the way the filter holder nests. If only there was a way to store it screwed (you can't because it is bad for the gasket) that would be better.
We've only used our (very nice) french press once since we got this. This is quicker, only slightly harder to use, and makes better tasting non-gritty coffee. We have a spinning frother so we don't miss our espresso machine for anything (and we value the extra counter space).

My preferred coffee maker

This has become my go to coffee maker. I will take quality over convenience any day. This is a beautiful blend of both. I wouldn't consider myself a coffee snob, but I can't bring myself to drink gas station or fast food joint coffees and I refuse to spend $5 on what amounts to 2 oz of coffee in 2 cups of steamed milk from Starbucks.
This, however, solves that issue completely. I use the inverted method to brew my coffee then add only enough water to fill my cup. Add a packet of sugar to sweeten it just a bit and enjoy. The convenience of this thing cannot be overstated. The entire aeropress system fits in a handy little tote bag. I have even found a way to fit an extra pack of paper filters and a ceramic burr grinder in the pouch as well. I keep a small bag of fresh whole beans, a small fuel can, burner stove and stainless steel coffee mug all in a convenient go bag. I can have fresh hot coffee anywhere, anytime.

Best way to make 1 or 2 cups of coffee.

Love my AeroPress for making 1 or 2 cups of coffee. I have used it nearly everyday for months and it makes an amazing cup of coffee. Typically I use the inverted method which just feels right. I downloaded a timer app for my iPhone and after putting the grounds in I will pour enough water to cover the grounds and swirl for about 30 seconds to bloom the coffee. Then I fill the cylinder up with water and let it steep for about 2.5 minutes before taking 30 seconds to press through a previously rinsed filter. I find the best way to clean it (without having to remove the rubber plunger) is to pull the plunger back into the cylinder after ejecting the grounds so that it is flush with the cylinder. Then I can wash the rubber edge without getting soap underneath and having to remove the rubber stopper. At home I have a nice Breville electric kettle that I use and I bought an inexpensive Proctor Silex one for traveling. The AeroPress works so well we bought a second one for my son to use in his dorm room.
BEST WAY TO MAKE COFFEE! Easy to use. Coffee comes out smoother and yummier!

I saw this "device" at Ritual Coffee Roasters while visiting Napa (it's a coffee shop based in San Francisco). I had the best coffee ever. And I was mesmerized by the different gadgets and methods they used to brew the coffee. I noticed that the coffee I had felt softer and smoother than any I've ever had. That's the best way I can explain it. The AeroPress was the coolest gadget (I thought) that they had. I left town thinking I could do without some soft smooth coffee. I got home and craved it. Fortunately, Amazon had this. I did some simple research to make sure that this would produce the same softness and smoothness as the coffee I had. It seemed promising that it would. Plus, with the way it works, the result is a less acidic coffee.
(Some of my personal background might help you decide if this is something you'd enjoy as well. Otherwise, skip this part). I love the taste of coffee, but I am not a coffee snob (until now, I guess). My usual coffee is a packet of those 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 asian coffees (I still love em). Every once in a while, I'll get Starbucks frappes, but I much prefer Coffee Bean. I have gastritis, so I am very sensitive to acidic foods/drinks. So, the previously stated coffees are tolerable; coffee from coffee makers will cause me a lot of pain and discomfort. I have various partially used bags and canisters of coffee grounds, which I had to quit using, because of my gastritis. I used to make my coffee using a french press or slow drip.
Excited to try it right away, I just used whatever coffee grounds I had on hand. 1) This device is so easy to use 2) it already comes with a lot of disposable filters, but I used the reusable one that I added on. 3) the same ol' grounds resulted in a softer, smoother, and tastier drink. 4) I typically add some sweetener (Stevia), but the coffee didn't need it. 5) My stomach knew it was less acidic.

Great espresso at home

This espresso coffee maker has become a Thing. It has an almost cult-like following. It makes excellent (REALLY excellent!) espresso without any appliances. Just heat water to 175 degrees (a microwave works well for me) and you can make a cup in a few minutes. I prefer to make espresso in a mug and then add hot water to make a genuine Americano. The strong polycarbonate parts are virtually indestructible. You can even pack them in the included drawstring tote bag and take this kit on the road to make great espresso in your hotel room. You must reorder the little paper filters but they are inexpensive and are available in bulk. The price is reasonable so, go ahead, give this a try. You'll be hooked!
