Waterproof Horse Blanket Renewer
Silverstone✓ Verified Purchase•October 7, 2023
Renews the waterproofing on our horses' turnouts and raincoats quite well. At the end of the winter rainy season, I clean all of the horse blankets, sheets, turnouts, and raincoats to pack them away until the next winter. I use this on the waterproof ones, and when the rains start again the next winter, the horses stay dry and warm.
Easy to use. I fill a sprayer bottle, and follow the instructions. The waterproofing is renewed just like a new waterproof turnout or raincoat.
Highly recommended.
(Update Jan 18, 2019): Am just now reordering more. My two rain-loving muddy ducks (see photo) insist upon standing in the pouring winter rains instead of sheltering in their nice dry barn, so their water-proof blankets are field tested to the max. The mud and sand get hosed off of the blanket, it goes into a clean water rinse in the washing machine, it gets sprayed good with the Nikwax, and put into the dryer on low heat. And back on the horse, who stays warm, dry, and fluffy under the blanket. Oh, and it works well on my rain gear also. :)

Easy to use, just follow the directions. I used it for added water proofing on my cheap outdoor cushions. I also used it on my water repellent hiking jacket, pants and shoes. I thought it did what I expected and will use it again as needed.
Helps keep the water from soaking in.

It works well on material that's still in good condition, but all materials wearout... it can't fix that, and the water will just get through..
works great

Works great. I don't know how long it lasts yet.
Easy to work with, but go through it quickly

I like this product, it was easy to work with and did help my blankets remain water resistant. It was my first time using the product and I would buy it again, however I did go through it quickly. I was only able to waterproof a couple of blankets so I suggest buying more than you anticipate you'd need. It can be expensive, but beats having to buy a new blanket even if it only gets you through another year!
