I purchased a couple of these - one for use on a hard wood floor and the other for on carpeting. It worked very well on both surfaces! Only 1 person was needed to position the tree (it usually takes 3 of us). I am so glad that I happened across this product!

Vet large plastic like plate to place the tree on.... it is a nice size and has a lip all the way around to prevent spills. It does make the stree skirt look bumpy and strange but it prevents damage to the floor and that is very important when you have expensive wood or laminate.
