Will not fit many side mirror designs. Avoidable design flaw.
pepeps•May 4, 2018
This specifically did not fit a 2018 Hyundai Tucson. The car's side view mirror is tapered so it is narrower farther out than in near the car. Consequently, as the straps are tightened, they squeeze the mirror outward where it is now looser. As you tighten the straps more, the device slides out further, thus getting loose again, and so on. I tried pushing the holding flanges on the device in such a way that they might resist the outward going force and neutralize the outward slipping effect, but that did not help. The instructions made no mention of this potential difficulty. Perhaps I simply could not figure it out, but it did not work for me. I recommend: 1. Improve the instructions. 2. Change the design so a strap holds the mirror against the sliding force. If seller/manufacturer explains it to me I will be happy to retract this review.
One Man's "Universal" Fit is Another's "It Might Work"
By CJs Pirate•August 19, 2017
One man's "Universal" is another's possible fit. I bought these for my '06 Ford Ranger. The mirrors have an odd bottom and it takes a long time tweaking and fine tuning to get the extensions to lock in properly. I didn't manage it directly. BUT... these have greatly enhanced my vision. I cannot emphasize that enough. They are well worth it and I wish I had gotten them sooner.
A recent round trip to the Idaho Panhandle from Central Washington allowed me plenty of time to assess the suitability of these clip-ons. I'm impressed. I know I'll be much happier once I hit that "sweet spot" to get the arms adjusted 'just right' to allow a good reach and secure fit.

Probably the Best Extension Mirror You will Find
Who Knows•May 15, 2017
Far superior extension mirror than "that other brand". I bought two different brand mirrors, and these are clearly better. It is built out of higher quality plastic and has reinforcement webbing inside the arms. The strapping system is actually a ratchet that works very well once you figure out how to operate it. The straps also have a huge shoe with a big rubber sole that will keep you from scratching up your original mirror. A nice touch is that as you ratchet down, the four clips that slide under your original mirror will also tighten up. Cool. I did a quick test drive, and the mirror did shake a little (not nearly as bad as "that other brand". However, I think the majority of the shaking came from the original mirror being over loaded from wind forces. I couldn't get ANY wiggle between the mirror to mirror interface. It was TIGHT!
This is a quality extension mirror that I'm sure I'll get a lot of life out of. I fit it to a 2005 Toyota Tacoma perfectly.
Nobody gave me any free stuff for this review. In general, I never get free stuff. I just don't get the love....whatever. The mirror is still good. I'm gonna buy another.

Great option for vehicles without dedicated tow mirrors
RC_FL•March 26, 2017
I had to tow a 5x8 U-Haul trailer to Miami from northern Alabama with my 2011 Ford Explorer. Since the Explorer is now more car than truck, there aren't many (read: there are no) dedicated tow mirror options. Enter these tow mirrors.
I got these the day I picked up my trailer. I could have gotten by without them but they were a tremendous help, especially when backing and negotiating heavy traffic (Atlanta at rush hour anyone?).
Take the time to set them up securely and they'll stay put going down the road. At highway speeds, there was very little buffeting or vibration. They didn't impede the view from my regular mirrors either.
Pros:
"¢ Provide a lot of extra rear visibility and help negate any blind spot issues.
"¢ Solid mount setup. As I said, these will stay put at highway speeds.
Con:
"¢ Not much of one, but depending on how your mirror housing is designed, they can limit the travel of your car's wing mirrors. Make sure you've got your mirrors set where you want them before you install these and you'll be good to go.
Overall: I'd buy them again. Well worth the price and a solid value.

Great Mirrors, but don't work so well on 2015 Durango without modification
CAH•February 12, 2017
First of all, I like these mirrors. They are solid and very adjustable for different mounts. The reason for the 3 stars is that I had to jury rig an extra cord around the car end of the vehicles mirror to get the straps to hold without slipping to the outside and loosening up. This is because I have a 2015 Dodge Durango and the mirrors are tapered towards the outside and these mount straps actually pull the mount to the outside. I made up a solid strap to go around the inside end of the vehicle mirrors so that the outside strap could not pull the mount to the outside of the mirror were there is no good support to keep the mount solid. With the inside strap attached the mount straps stay secure.
