I use these "dry sacks" as inexpensive form of packing cubes. I have never used these as dry bags; however, when I do use dry bags when I kayak, I prefer to use a more trustworthy brand because the last thing I want is a wet phone and lunch. When I do use them as packing cubes I like it because it compresses the air and I can carry more in my bag. I like the various sizes and colors because I can remember what is in each bag.
Pros:
- variety of size and color
- easy to use
- good for packing
- nice quality
Cons:
- not as trustworthy for water
(unless you like to dance with the devil)
- big buckle can be not as tight

Love them, but they leak.

I loved everything about these bags, except for the fact that they leaked on both occasions I used them. First, I tested them in my bathtub with grey shirts. I ran water over them for a few seconds then let them sit in the water for a few hours. All of them leaked and let in a little water. I thought, when would these ever sit in water for a few hours so I gave them another try. I went hiking and it began to pour down rain. My red dry sack was in my backpack and had our phones, keys, and wallets. It rained for about 45 minutes; after the hike I opened the sack and realized it leaked through and got everything slightly wet. It wasn't drenched and the leather wallets were just fine, but I expected more from the dry sacks. I thought I had sealed them correctly, but if I did not then these sacks are a bit too sensitive and not operator friendly. I hope your experience is better than mine. I wanted to love them, but simply can't use a dry sack that didn't keep my stuff dry.
100% good. Probably wouldn't put my phone in it and ...

I read reviews saying they wouldn't be waterproof. So as soon as they came in I filled them with water and hung them with paracord from a tree for about a half hour. I didn't see or feel one drop come out. Maybe I got lucky? but for backpacking and using these as food (bear) bags or keep stuff waterproof while hiking. 100% good. Probably wouldn't put my phone in it and hold it under water...but it will keep your stuff pretty damn dry.
There were two days of pretty heavy rain

I ordered two sets of the 3-Pack Ultimate Dry Sack for me and my son to take to Philmont Scout Ranch. They arrived on time and came as specified. It rained everyday (except one) while we were on the trail. There were two days of pretty heavy rain. The bags kept all items in them dry. I used the large bag to keep clothes I wanted dry in during the day and I used it as a pillow at night. The middle bag I used to keep personal items and a first aide kit in. The small bag I used to keep an extra shirt and underwear.
The bags were simple to use and even held air like a balloon if I didn't push it out first. When I got home, I washed them in the washer and they all came out looking like new.
This was a great deal for the ten dollars and I would not hesitate to purchase these items again it I needed more.

Nice way to organize gear and keep it dry

This dry sack set is very light weight, and has worked well at keeping my items dry. I don't think I would trust them if I were to actually submerge the sacks for a long period of time in water, but to throw into hiking backpacks or travel with, they do the job quite well. I like that they are different sizes, and colors. I use the larger yellow one when hiking/camping in rainy weather, the red one was the perfect size for a full change of clothes in the summer time to keep in my car, and the blue one was sized just right to keep a pair of wool socks, gloves, and a beanie in my car during the winter.
