Great food, BUT...

This high-quality, human grade dog food, HOWEVER, my dog will eat only about 1/4 of the food needed to sustain him in his condition! He continues to lose weight. :-( (NOTE: he WILL eat other things like broccoli, Cheerios, popcorn, any meat.)
Great product for price

Dr. Harvey's Canine Health Miracle Dog Food has been a game-changer for my furry friend. The 10-pound bag of this human-grade dehydrated base mix is packed with organic whole grains and vegetables, providing a wholesome and nutritious meal. I appreciate the transparency in using high-quality ingredients, ensuring my dog gets the best. The ease of preparation is a standout feature "“ just add protein and water, and it's ready to serve. My dog's coat is shinier, and overall health has visibly improved since switching to Dr. Harvey's. It's reassuring to know I'm feeding my pet a premium, balanced diet. Highly recommended for dog owners seeking top-notch nutrition for their canine companions.

I have not tasted it but it smells good and my dogs are crazy for it. They stand at my feet as I am preparing their dinner. My one girl sits in her crate tapping her toes waiting for me to put it down for her. Great product!

In mid 2021, my 80 lb retriever/chow mix dog was diagnosed with early stage chronic kidney disease. His Creatinine and BUN levels were elevated on the normal/high border. He also had other markers indicating the disease. I switched to Dr. Harvey's and immediately noticed a difference in my dog's energy level and it was evident he was feeling much better. This was significant! Note, I also add Cordyceps, Astragalus and Rehmannia root extract to his food to support his kidneys, as well as bone broth I make in the crockpot and freeze into cubes to add to the food. He has also had 3 knee surgeries on both rear knees, and has arthritis. His mobility also has improved greatly. He's now 13 and will be 14 in a month and was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma two months ago. The only symptoms were his lack of appetite and lethargy. I assumed at the time it was due to his kidney disease progressing, however, his kidney levels were/are perfect! It was his liver levels that were elevated due to the cancer. The Oncologist informed me his muscle mass was great and other than the elevated liver levels, everything else looked very good. She assured me he was a good candidate for treatment, and looked better than most dogs his age. I started him on chemo and he went into full remission within two weeks. When his appetite returned within a few days of treatment, I continued giving him the Dr. Harvey's. I now can't keep up with him on walks, and he's back to chasing rabbits, deer and the local cat. I attribute this to the cancer treatment, daily exercise and his diet. I can't say enough good things about this food and the extended life it has brought my dog. If I hadn't switched to Dr. Harvey's, I'm certain my dog would no longer be with me. The cost is a bit more due to the meat and fish I buy to add to the food, but not terribly expensive and not much more than the prescription kibble the vet recommended (which I feed as a treat on occasion. This allows me to feed him kibble on trips, or if I have to leave him with the pet sitter). It is nothing compared to the vet bills that would have occurred otherwise and my dog feels and looks great! I do recommend swapping out the meat source weekly, though, as my dog has acquired a chicken allergy. I was using nothing but chicken for the first year, and feel this most likely contributed to his allergy.
Also...It did take him a bit to warm up to the food at first, so don't give up quickly if your dog turns its nose up. Persistence is everything, and once he figured out that it's better food and tastes better, he devoured it (and still does). This took several attempts and not caving with other food.

Alfredo picked all the chicken out first and Piggy did the same when she realized what Alfredo was doing. I assume she was thinking, "why would anyone ruin 2lbs of chicken like this?" But something happened in those 15 seconds between smelling and inhaling just the protein. I'd bet just enough of the mix had made it onto their palettes for them to develop the flavor profile and determine Dr Harvey was onto something. Because, Alfredo asked for a scoop of the mix and then another, and another. Piggys curiosity got run over by her feelings of fear as they exited her body as she took her first bites of just mix. She knew that her and her best friend and partner for life had just had what Alcoholics refer to as, a moment of clarity. There was no such thing as dog food anymore. This was fuel. Fuel for their little canine engines that before this were just putt-putt-putting along. Now all 8 cylinders were pumping fuel/air mixture into the spark that would combust and push those cam shafts with fire and fury like they've never felt before. They just haven't been the same since. The chanting starts off like a slow whisper around 430pm, by 6 its a thundering roar that can be heard for miles to let the world know it is dinner time. And nothing will quiet these 2 beasts but chicken or steak with an EVOO dressing complimenting Dr Harvey's Miracle Dog Food Pre-Mix...CANINE HEALTH. Today, on our walk they met a Bully in the neighborhood who was clearly unaltered and unleashed....he tried sniffing Piggys backside and Alfred promptly introduced him to what humans call, Humble Pie. I think maybe Alfred learned telepathy from Spock on Star Trek while I was at work one day because with one non aggressive snot rocket from his wrinkled snout it was as if Alfo gave him to the count of 3, like I do to them when they wont stop wrestling each other at 2am on the bed I am sleeping in, the neighborhood example of GED over diploma apologized and fist bumped Alfie before turning and scampering back into his backyard. As we continued, Piggy said we should bring that young boy some Dr Harvey's so he can experience life without feeling inadequate for the first time in his life. She is an angel. Tomorrow they want to check out some coordinates they believe could be the location of the lost city of Atlantis based on some dreams Piggle had while napping. I'll have to get a boat, but who cares?. Thanks, Dr Harvey.
