it was a like a dream come true
Amazon Customer•June 3, 2018
I got this product, and used the same day. Let me tell you, it was a like a dream come true. Some history....I have had the Heyward triangular vacuum head for 5 seasons (in Michigan it's seasons, not years). It's the vacuum head that the bristles always break completely off after a season or two, and the replacement brushes are about $35. I never left the vacuum head in the sun, always in the shade. Not knowing much about this subject, or wanting to take a chance on another brand of vacuum head, I would reluctantly purchase the replacement brushes, knowing that they would all break off relatively soon. Finally, I had had enough of this extremely frustrating way of vacuuming, as the Heyward is not the quickest or easiest thing to use.
So, I started to look at other alternatives, and found this Pool Supply Town model to be quite highly reviewed, and figured I'd give it a try. I read most of the reviews, and followed everyone's advice on making sure all the screws and nuts were tight before using (they were pretty tight, but they all moved about a 1/2 turn to full turn). It is quite heavy, which helps it sit on the floor or wall of the pool very easily ( I do not have to push it down to the bottom). I hooked up the vacuum hose to it, and wondered how much suction it would have, as it appears to just be a flat head with a hole in the middle for the hose. Well, it sucked my hand right to the hole, making me now a little afraid that it would suction itself to the bottom of the pool. So I carefully placed it down in the shallow end, and it did not get stuck to the floor. I started moving it a little, and instantly I noticed how incredibly easy the vacuum head moves around with those wheels. I literally was able to extend the pole out to about 14', and I was holding on to the very end of the pole with 3 fingers, and could moved the vacuum head around as if it were not even there. I could not have been more amazed at how effortless it was to use. And the head is very flexible as I was able to vacuum where the corners meet in the deep end by having half the vacuum head on each wall of the corners. I literally vacuum my pool in about 5 minutes (granted there was not a lot to suck up, but I got the entire floor of the deep end, all the corner edges, and some of the shallow end). I didn't have to pick up the vacuum head at all, as I could just walk around the entire pool and just keep rolling the head around as I went. This product works amazingly simple, and very effective (at least for me). I would not hesitate to buy it again, and would definitely recommend it to anyone. I figured that I don't need a vacuum with brushes, as I don't brush the pool with the vacuum head, as that takes an extremely long time. That is why I bought this item....because I just wanted a vacuum.

I'm pretty sure this is about as good as it gets....

This seems to be a pretty good product. It's heavy, which is very good because is stays on the bottom. It seems to be very well made and somewhat flexible so it will fit (to some degree) the contour of you pool bottom. I've seen a bunch of them in pool stores and I've owned a couple. This one seems every bit as good as any that I've seen or used.
Does not last

After 1 year, the pole connecting portion started to disintegrate. Was fine till then.
Falling apart after 1 month

For the cost of this pool vacuum, I certainly would have expected it to last longer. It is heavy and seemed to be well constructed, however today while vacuuming my pool, one of the nuts holding a wheel on apparently wiggled its way loose, allowing the wheel to come off. This is only after 1 month of use! Poor design on the nuts/bolts holding the wheels on! Very disappointed!
Very dissatisfied!!

We have only used this head maybe 4-5 times and it is rusting and the handle portion is disintegrating, as evident I the attached photos!!
