I ordered this buffet instead of the Pottery Barn buffet I had my eye on for months. It saved me $600 although it took a good amount of time to put together. The instructions for assembly were very clear and easy to follow so I thought it was well worth the time. I love how it looks in my kitchen, although I had my doubts during assembly because it seemed a bit wobbly. That was not an issue once I completed the assembly and I am satisfied with the quality of the product, especially for the price. Definitely recommend having a second person available to help with a few steps since it is long and a few pieces are heavy.

I think it looks great, although I don't really know how sturdy it is. The top didn't fit very well, when I got it attached at one end it would not go in at the other. I got it together as well as I could but until I got the back on it was very wobbly and I am not sure how well it will hold up in the long run. But I still think it is a beautiful piece of furniture and it looks great in my dinning room.

Packaging protected the furniture even tho the box corners were damaged. The "antiqued reddish marks" mentioned in description are few and practically invisible (which is good). Well designed and easy to put together, but you must follow directions, which I do. I did need an extra set of hands to managed the top, bottom and doors, but I presumed that. The top and bottom are 2" plus thick and this does not look like a flimsy pre-fab piece, smooth black finish. Drawers glide beautifully. Lots of storage, but does not intrude far into the room, trim compared to some hutch bases. Surprised and pleased.
